Went here on Sunday for lunch. Great food. Great service. Really good value for money. Recommended to anyone.

Hits the spot One of the many dining establishments that’s been around the Joondalup CBD for as long as I can remember — and it always delivers good food that hits the spot. Service here can depend who’s on shift and how attentive they are. Sometimes you might wait a little bit to order an extra main, a drink or dessert — as some nights they do get a little swamped. Thankfully, ordering as well as settling up your bill is efficient. Sure, the internal décor may feel a little kitsch and more reminiscent of an Asian dining establishment from the late 80s/early 90s, but good food more than makes up for function room style chairs and plastic table cloths. After all, you’re not coming here for five star cuisine. Soft drinks are sold by the jug, so makes things easier for large groups too(or smaller thirsty ones). Bring the friends, bring a family, and enjoy some reasonably priced asian cuisine that won’t break the bank or leave you hungry. Personal pick: Go the takeaway menu on Monday to Thursday after 5pm. Their dinner boxes are perfectly priced with a good portion size; and if you forget to call ahead — you’ll still get your order in 15min, time easily passed by a walk around the block. Makes it easy for a night when you’re not up to slaving away over the stove. Quick tip: If the street parking is full, there’s parking behind Mr Ho, with a rear entry so you don’t have to walk all the way back around the front. Things to watch for: 2.5% credit card surcharge, with $ 15 minimum transaction.

I have one thing to say, vegetable omelette! I order this at most Asian restaurants and no restaurant seems to do it as well as Mr Ho’s. It has to be one of my favourite Asian restaurants in Joondalup. They have a huge variety and I have never been let down with the food quality or the service. The prices are pretty reasonable too, they do lunch deals a meal and a drink for $ 10, you can’t really say no to that!

My family is a big fan of Mr Ho’s as a takeaway restaurant. The food steers clear of any of the pitfalls of other Chinese restaurants and is just a good quality feed for a reasonable price. We usually alternate between Mr Ho’s and Kulcha, which are both in the Joondalup CBD, but sometimes we prefer Mr Ho’s because of the quality and consistency of the food. Eating in is a hoot as well. But that’s just because I’m a sucker for a lazy Susan.

Mr Ho is part of what could be termed as Joondalup’s Asian strip, being one of three Chinese restaurants along the same street. While the other restaurants focus on dine-in eating, Mr Ho is like the fast-food version of Chinese cuisine, featuring mainly variants of stir-fry noodles, or fried rice. The food at Mr Ho is fast and cheap, and for its price, it’s not bad. The servings are generous and the flavours are well-balanced. The food is also not greasy, which is a common fault in restaurants focused on stir-fry. Service-wise, the staff are efficient if a bit cold and indifferent. Mr Ho is a good option if you are looking for a quick and cheap Asian-styled meal.
