I was expecting to find elderly ladies meeting here for a coffee party or high tea in a gracefully aged environment. However, I was pleasantly surprised that this newly opened café is a real gem among businesses of the area. It’s got the fresh look of a cosy café and owner Fabio knows how to serve a velvety and buttery coffee. Glad the cappuccino doesn’t come with chocolate sprinkles all over. You’ll find the goodness in the cup. They also make a mean ice coffee that attracts the looks of neighbouring tables and has a good overall characteristics of acidity, body and flavour. And, it’s not stupidly diluted with ice cubes. Large monumental pictures of Paris, London, New York and Sydney ornate the walls inside, where you’ll find about 8 round café tables; 2 or 3 more tables are outside. Blackboards behind the counter show what’s on offer. Breakfast options include eggs benedict and eggs florentine. The former with options of either salmon or ham. Both dishes are about $ 16. The chef could have gone a bit easier on the salt in the hollandaise sauce, but otherwise the eggs were done perfectly and the bread was delicious. Breakfasts are priced between $ 5 and $ 20, while lunch mains set you back between $ 14 and $ 20. There’s also a small selection of simple cakes, cookies and pastries between $ 2 and $ 4.50.
