Awesome coffee! Sometimes difficult to get a table but I will happily wait as the coffee is so good.

Disappointing coffee unfortunately(like this brand of bean usually!) have been wanting to try when in the area. Boiling hot and no care given. Perhaps just down to the Sunday barista who obviously didn’t want to be there and most likely came straight from being out all night!

Terrible service, horrific waiting times, for a simple 2 coffees and some banana& raspberry bread. It was also dropped on the ground and the waiter asked if I was sure I didn’t want it. Plus very expensive for what it is very over priced compared to other cafes.

Rude and unhelpful customer service, we ended up walking off. I asked the person at the counter if we can have a table for four and as the place was pretty full, how long it would take for us to get a table. The reply was ‘It’s find your own space really.’ There are better ways of communicating the seating arrangement than by basically saying, ‘go get your own table.’ Was not impressed, but still we looked around and found a table after another customer got up to leave. I went in again to ask for a menu and was told there isn’t one, and everything is on the board. I asked if there is anything I could take as we were sitting outside. I was told, ‘if you have a phone, you can take a picture and share it.’ I said, ‘Yeah?’ and was told ‘Yeah.’ At this point, we decided to leave. This was the first and definitely the last time I am coming here.

Meh. Coffee is my last vice and so I’m overinvested. P&R have decent beans and ok baristas. I hate milky coffee and that’s what they’ve served up to me for takeaway. I won’t go back. If desperate for a coffee, I’ll head to Firefly across the plaza.

5 Stars. Plain and simple. Great coffee, delicious food, and the most profound service experience I’ve had in literally 8 years. The two dishes we had were really fantastic and the coffee was as described in other reviews. Here’s the best part. I got up to chase my daughter as she was running away from the table. While I was away a bird attack the plate of food they had just brought out. I went inside and just ordered/paid for another replacement dish but didn’t mention the bird fiasco. When the server brought the new dish, he asked why I had the other plate of food sitting there. Explained the situation — two minutes later he came back with cash and refunded my meal! This doesn’t happen in Sydney! It was an awesome and unexpected surprise. Point is — clearly these guys care about their customers. Highly recommend you make your way over and enjoy a great breakfast experience. ANDWATCHOUTFORTHEBIRDS.

Great coffee and good poached eggs! I can only vouch for those as that is the only thing i’ve eaten. They have indoor which is more communal based and outdoor seating more for groups of 2 or more. It sometimes feels crowded inside even when there are only a handful of people there. Their menu is on the blackboard on the wall behind the coffee machine, sometimes you have to walk in and stand in front of it in order to understand the writing. Overall, its ok.

I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to actually review P&R in Lane Cove(or for that matter, actually checking in on Unilocal!). P&R hands down has the best coffee in this leafy quiet neighbourhood and it is a definite favorite of mine on the weekend. They are supremely popular with usually a long queue out front any time between 10am and 3pm on the weekends. There’s some outdoor seating and a big communal table indoors. The staff are friendly and helpful. I’ve had anything from the eggs to the granola to the bircher — all very good. My only issue today is that it is damn cold with no heating(indoors or outdoors) but hey, there’s something primal about having a delicious hot coffee in the cold.

These guys really do set the benchmark of coffee in Lane Cove, consistently well made and tasty. It’s a great spot to pop in for a quick coffee. Good location. They’d be my pick in the plaza.

Food great, good«boards» all well prepared. Barista’s think they’re in Surry Hills they’re not and would cope with the pressure, judging by the service which is very slow and cumbersome. These guys need much better coffee, and a really organized person to help get it all done loads quicker.

Absolutely adore Pablo and Rusty’s in Lane Cove! Their coffee is superb and never misses a beat. Classic meals are their avocado/tomato ciabatta which has slight changes throughout the year. Their brekkie boards are also very well balanced and super tasty. If you’re venturing there for lunch I would recommend the«Rusty burger» — cooked to perfection and simply delicious. I’d highly recommend a visit.

Great coffee and I really dig the hipster vibe, asked on the crowds you know it has to be one of the best places in Sydney to get a real coffee. If you get a chance try the soy latte, I don’t know what they do but it’s pretty amazing.

Great place for breakfast. The poached eggs here are the best I have come across in Sydney. The coffee is very good and the bircher muesli is excellent. Easily the best breakfast café on the North Shore. Highly recommended. The staff and the music are great as well. Just try it!

This place does good coffee and is reliably good. The queues here are long especially on a weekend morning where mums and dads are getting are getting their morning fix before taking the kids off to Saturday morning sports. There is also a limited menu here. They serve simple food which is done well. My only complaint is the slowness of their service especially with the take away coffee. It is not unusual to wait at least 20mins for a coffee. If you are not in a hurry its not so much a problem as you can take in the goings on of lane cove plaza. But if you just want a coffee fix it is a bit of a wait. However once you get it, the coffee is very good!

I had the B&E, which was bacon rich, but all balanced with the free range egg and tomato BBQ relish. Coffee was ok, not the best I’ve ever had, the chai tea was better.

Dirty bastards… have stolen all the local coffee addicts in the area. As one of many locals in area, P&R have absolutely dominated the coffee crown. Using different kinds of blends and single origins each visit, you will be asked and told where your coffee comes from. Have your coffee anyway you want, any style. But aside from his outstanding drops, the rustic feel of their menu only shows the effort and freshness made into each dish. You will never taste a more powerful zing in each bite. It can take more than a few mins to 10 mins for an order, but the que upon is reason why. It’s just that good! Always will come back here.

This place is great for breakfast. Espresso is solid, breakfast boards are great. However the last time I was here was in November 2012, so hopefully they have maintained their quality levels. That said, next time I’m in Sydney I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Now that the first round of reviews are done, being able to order my coffee here specifically has made all the difference. The first time I came here and ordered a dbl mac that was so watery and over espressed that I was extremely disappointed. However from those low lows, it has improved dramatically! The crema was brilliant, and the flavour of my coffee was rich but not burnt. Really great effort… :-) Given that I had a bit of a food craving as well, it is just a shame they don’t sell bacon. Only real breakfast options they had was a poached egg, roasted tomatoes and mushrooms on sourdough for $ 15… though the sour cherry French toast sounds pretty fine for $ 12. Overall, I am just really happy that my experience the first time I came here was not the standard. Great little café. If polygamy is ever made legal, I’m going to petition to marry Pablo & Rusty. These doyens of coffee first claimed my fealty in Gordon, but the duo raised themselves to marriage material after I paid a visit to their newest café in the heart of Lane Cove’s Plaza. The beautifully designed surrounds bring a hint of Surry Hills to the lower North Shore, while the coffee is skillfully and artfully crafted by the busy bee baristas. I’m told there are also handmade popsicles, which, come summer, might just make me even more head over heels. I’m also told the name is a homage to a pair of brother-in-law coffee fanatics. I fear that will add a few more barriers to marriage. Sigh…
