Leederville Laundrobar

Good laundry, machines work well open all the time. Not expensive either. I go there regularly to do my washing, if you need something clean at midnight you know you can always rely on Leederville Laundromat.

If you are a time poor and hygiene despondent student, you will sympathize with the almighty task of Cleaning One’s Clothes. Whilst I’ve never lived in Leederville, I did crash on a friend’s couch who lived up Vincent street whilst I was searching for a lair of my own. Students lack in the white goods department, so laundromats are a necessity. I prefer to wash my own clothes because I’ve been ripped off too many times by launderers making my loads as small as possible, thus charging me extra.
Laundrobar in Leederville has somehow turned a boring chore into a trendy event, and because it’s self-​service, you’re in complete charge. They’ve decked out the place with band posters, supplied music mags as you wait for your cycle to finish, and best of all, they’re located in the thick of Leederville’s best shopping and eateries. They’re prices are seriously budget friendly too. $ 5 per load, and $ 1 for 10 minutes in the dryer. Not sure if they supply soap because I bring my own, but maybe stock up on Omo just in case!

Ever since Lisa Mitchell’s «Coin Laundry» hit song, laundrobars have been very trendy as well as functional. Whilst I don’t live in Leederville and I do have a washing machine at home, I used to work at one of the cafes on the Leederville strip and when the manager would ask who’d like to go and take the tablecloths and aprons to be washed I was the first to put my hand up. It’s a very simple place, clean and there is generally always an available washer or dryer, and it is reasonably priced. As I’d fold up the numerous tablecloths I’d generally find myself talking to another local who was doing their washing and I had many pleasant conversations with people from around the place. There are also numerous music magazines and flyers for upcoming shows to read while you are waiting for your washing to finish up.
