This place is awesome! Came here for a 30th bday party. We were group of about 25 people. The staff was really helpful, friendly and looked after us really well. The drinks were fantastic — specially Aperol Spritz which reminded me so much of Italy. The food was beautiful too. We tried zucchini flowers filled with fresh ricotta, smoked provola and basil, salt cod croquettes served with Mediterranean sauce of olives, capers & tomato and bruschetta. Everything was delicious. And the pizza — yummmmm– so good — just like in Italy. Amazing mozzarella on all of them. I tried the MARGHERITABUFALASTG, CAPRICCIOSA&DIAVOLETTO. AMAZING! Great place with awesome vibe and fantastic food. We are not far and will be back very soon. Can’t wait!

We came for aperitivo and said so upon entering, and then we were told ok, take a seat at the bar. So we do and order our drinks(cocktails). But no, 10 minutes later when friends arrive we are told, «it’s $ 15 upstairs» by a particularly rude bar tender(which we didn’t provoke in any way). Would have been nice to have been told that when we arrived, and not by a man who seemed to be accusing us of stealing something. So 4 of us left to eat and drink elsewhere. I won’t be back.

first and last time i’ll be going there. the service was ok but the food was over priced and unsatisfactory. the entrée(deep fried mozzarella) was nicer than the main(pizza). the pizzas were all soggy. the bases were incredibly thin and the crust was incredibly thick making it really hard to cut. the tomato sauce was really thin and tasteless as if they’d watered it down to make it go further which made the base soggy and the toppings were scarce. would not recommend unless you don’t have any taste buds. also noticed there wasn’t any chicken on the menu.

My favourite restaurant in Sydney. The best pizza I’ve had in Australia(and I have tried a lot) great vibe, friendly staff, the ever changing«Italian Tapas» menu is fantastic too. I can’t wait to go again.

A little bit Italian and a little bit Australian, Aperitivo tries to strike a halfway point between the two. Having lived in Italy I can see what they are trying to do — be an Italian wine bar and restaurant, and I believe they have succeeded as best they can. Most of the staff look like Italian male models and have typically Italian accents. I don’t know whether they’re straight off the plane and are on working visas but Aperitivo seems to get the best looking guys. The drinks are a little pricey but the meals are fine. They have a range of cocktails, a great list of wines and a number of sharing plates. If you have a healthy appetite you will have to order two or three of these. The meals are typically Italian with polpette(meatballs) and calamari(squid). On Tuesday they have pizza and beer nights, cheaper than the rest of the week and a good way of getting to know the place. If you’re looking for a place with atmosphere, they have live music on Fridays but make sure you’re not near the front door when they’re playing, a lack of conversation will ensue as they are loud and they play in a confined place. Normally I go with a friend and we have a couple of drinks and two courses each and we get away under $ 100.
