It is crowded and noisy as all heck, but with views like this, is there any surprise? I came for a weekend birthday party so fortunately we had reserved tables. I like that this is an operational club for boating types. There were people popping into the loos with soggy wetsuits and a staff member walked out with a full on crate of grilled onions for an outside BBQ. It adds the the ambience. Inside the eating area, people were dressed quite nicely(for ever low-key Australia) in smart-casual garb. As well they should, because such good deserves some mild primping. With seafood on the menu in such a location, I couldn’t resist ordering the 500g bucket of prawns, 3 natural oysters and 3 dressed oysters. The oysters were fine but onto the prawns. I was slightly dismayed to see the 10 cm long crustaceans served, because they tend to be bland but GOD these were spectacular. Salty, fragrant and firm. I have not had such great prawns in a year. They were served with crisp multigrain toasts with(truffle?) oil, a seafood sauce and a delightfully garlicky aioli. No, I did not take a picture because food coma.

This is a good traditional Australian pub type of restaurant. Go up to the counter and order, get a buzzer, go and collect. I happened to hit the ordering and then obviously the collection at a bit of a rush, but overall it was good. The food was good and the atmosphere is very nice out on the water.

A drink to a late friend who was a life member, a Judge and one of the nicest people I ever met. A Manly institution, the skiff club has been gentrified a little since I first went thirty years ago but for a spot on the harbour with a little club feel this is the place.

Gorgeous and unknown place in Manly. I recommand the scallops and prawn pasta which are just succulent. The sea view overlooking the bay is perfect if you seat on the patio.

Gorgeous spot overlooking Manly — decent range of drinks(though a mostly outdoors waterside drinking spot needs more than one big-brand cider on tap, in my humble opinion) and delicious food options — the seafood platter is divine and all the options are impressive — naturally the fish’n’chips are very good, as is the steak sandwich. Away from the noise of the Corso, this is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon, and/or impress overseas visitors!

Unlike most of Manly’s licensed establishments, Manly 16ft Skiff Club is not located around the hubbub of the Corso. Rather, it sits up on Manly hill and faces south towards Fairlight and the Wharf, surrounded by residential places. There’s no denying it — the Manly Skiff Club’s beautiful outlook is matched by the beautiful venue. On a warm day, sitting on the balcony with a drink or some lunch is amazingly nice. Make sure to bring your sunglasses along, it gets glary up here! Inside the venue is equally modern and well designed, featuring beautiful furniture and artworks. All this beauty, however, comes at a hefty price to your wallet — this is not the place to visit if you’re on a strict budget, that’s for sure. But if you want to have a glamorous party, the function rooms here are ideal; stunning water views, very smart and professional staff and a very chic, upmarket vibe ensures a lovely night for your special event.
