This place has exceptional Sashimi! So fresh and flavoursome! We had quite a few dishes and all were really good, the only fault I had was the calamari in tempura batter is said to have salt and chilli on the menu, but there was no flavour of this whatsover.
But overall, I really love this place, they even have a closed off kids play area so you can eat while they play! But a little tip… you have to book… this place gets packed!

Kokoroya is fab. You don’t have to sit on someone’s lap and overhear everyone’s conversations because it’s big. It has a good vibe.
Traditional fresh dishes. I actually didn’t think the food would be as nice as it was. Pleasantly surprised at this one :)
They’re child friendly and there were lots of kids when I was there but they were so far away I didn’t care!
It’s spacious, modern and clean.
Ordering off iPads is fun.

Being a Maroubra local, the number of options for restaurants that offer good food, good ambience and places that don’t feel like a uni take away stop are limited. Kokoroya offers a more sophisticated dine in offering then most of its competition. Recommended when compared to other options in the area.

This is perhaps the best restaurant I’ve visited in my near half century on the planet. You order via (supplied) iPad — so the only time you speak to a wait person is to say thank you when he or she delivers the food. No one recites the specials. Bliss! No one discusses wine options. Alcohol too is ordered via iPad. I punched in several different sake and beer chasers. No one speaks to you. It’s just fantastic.
