Halal! Alhamdulilah so happy to find this place. My family and I ate there and were quite happy with the food and price. Meals are $ 10(3 portions of curry, papadam, chai and unlimited roti) didn’t think this would fill up my husband but subhanAllah it didn’t and he usually eats a lot! We also got a side order of rice for $ 2 for our daughter. We were the only non-Indians there and we took this as a good sign. Food was authentic!

Upfront; know this is bain-marie Indian food, so you have to temper your expectations as soon as you walk in the door under the tacky flashing electrical signage. Busy at lunch-times with lots of what I assume were regulars — assume this as I was the only one who didn’t know how it «worked». How it worked was when ordering a $ 10 mixed curry lunch special you get to choose from 3 curries(meat or veg, and with quite a few options) and you then serve yourself salad and typical Indian garnishes and sauces and pour your own chai tea. Then workers scoot round every few minutes with a stack of warm garlic roti and throw one on your plate even if you’ve only nibbled on your previous one. IThe roti is unlimited here, which really pushes this into a solid 2 and a half stars if it could be selected(I didn’t have it in me to award a 3 to any bain-marie place though). You really need the rotis as the curry is kind of watery. Nice enough flavours but the thinnest sauce I’ve probably had. Meat quality is hit and miss — a nice chunk here, a fatty chunk there. For $ 10 I was pretty happy with it all though, especially as there seems to be a lack of curry places at this end of town.
