The best restaurant ever! The staff are all very friendly and knowledgable about food intolerances/allergies. The food is absolutely delicious. I can’t get enough of this place.

It’s nice to come to a place where you don’t have the constant fear of gluten contamination on your mind. Not only does this place cater to those with allergies and intolerances, but their food is amazing! Be sure to try dinner on a Friday night– great menu– and you can byo a bottle of wine! Brunch is heaven here I can never decide if I want sweet or savoury though!!!

Went there with two friends and it was easy for us to find a table while another group with 6 people arrived with us and waited till we finished to find a table. For sure you need to book for more than 4. Food was ok not great but just ok. We ordered Shakshola which is totally different than what it should be. It was like more eggs soup than a Shakshola and my friend ordered eggs on a toast with halloumi cheese which was over cooked. We also ordered a peppermint juice for $ 7 and we just got a bottled juice not a fresh one. We thought it is expensive for a small bottled juice. The place is 5 out of 5, service is 5 out of 5. Food is 2 out of 5, price is 3 out of 5. Overall we gave it 3 out of 5.

One of my favourite cafés. Fantastic if you are vego, vegan or gluten intolerant. A very inclusive menu indeed! First time I visited I enjoyed the smashed avo on toast with a side of smokey mushrooms. Perfect! I’ve also enjoyed the pancakes with bananas(favourite!) with coconut cream and the pancakes with berries. What presentation! For a more savoury option, try the sweet potato hash with beans. Very rich. Very delicious. You won’t be disappointed by the amazing food and equally amazing staff!

Service: 3 stars. very average, no welcome smiles given upon entering, but nothing really disappointing. 3 stars because they are family friendly, offered me a high chair and children’s cutlery. :) Coffee: 2 stars. Nice flavor, nothing special but I had a lot of coffee residue and beans on the bottom of my glass and they ended up in my mouth. Not devastated, but an unpleasant experience. Food: 2 stars. I ordered the SWEETPOTATOROSTI. How amazing does that sound? It looked beautiful when they brought it out. But it was too salty. Will post a picture of it. It was a combination of spinach, bacon, rosti, and hollandaise sauce and the sweet potato on the bottom. The salt over powered the sweet potato taste and my tongue feels like it’s been drowning in salt water. I don’t think my mouth ever gets this salty when I go to the beach! I think the hollandaise sauce needs to be replaced by a sweet chutney. I ordered the kids pancakes(1 star) for my son with blueberry compote. Of course I tasted it as well. The compote was very bitter, the pancakes had a very bland flavor AND worst of all there was a chunk of baking powder in one of the teeny bites I took. :(It was also very beautiful, and I took a picture of it. When I walked in to this place I thought it would be amazing. I was quite disappointed by the food. BUT I’m willing to go back and try something else. This place has heaps of potential and there are lots of other things on the menu to try.

We discovered Red Robyn a several months ago using Urban Spoon«around us». Weren’t we shocked to learn it was a 30 second walk from our house in Camberwell, and we had no idea it was there. There is no handing signage, and its off the main drag. Needless to say, we are so happy we found it. The owner Robyn has several food intolerances(fructose, lactose, gluten, etc) so every item on the menu caters to some intolerance. You’d like this would limit their menu — no way. Their menu is awesome! There are a few things better than others, but that is the same with any place. Our personal favourites are: buckwheat pancakes with maple syrup and bacon, polenta crusted kangaroo, and omg their pot pies with chickpea wedges. They had a beef curry pot pie(made with no coconut milk or onion) that was bloody amazing! Major high five. Coffee is fabulous, and she offers several options for milk(regular, lactose free, soy and even rice milk). Please note that their menu is seasonal and subjet to change and the amazing pies are a current winter menu item. Most people walk in, but probably best to book if you have more than 4 just in case. Ideally, I’d give them 4.5 stars. Food is a 5, service is a 4(unless you get Robyn who rocks). I think within the year they will be up to 5 as they work out the kinks.
