Very cool spot, great food. The crying tiger was the tables favorite followed by the Balinese duck and the steamed pork buns. This was my fathers first time eating anything remotely similar to these flavors and even he really liked it! Very good service but be warned you do have a time limit for your table since they are so busy. Also there was a 45 minute wait which for us Americans is nothing but apparently it’s unheard of in Australia to wait for a table!

I was thoroughly impressed with this restaurant. They offer several different small plates, most of which are $ 12, but some are up to $ 14. Overall theme is Vietnamese and Thai fusion. I enjoyed everything. But I have to comment on how extraordinary the lamb ribs were. These were without a doubt the best ribs I’ve ever eaten in my life. I’m not even a big fan of ribs, but these were exceptional. I ended up ordering an an extra plate of them after all the other food came out. They were tender and fell of the bone easily, yet they were slightly crisp on the outside, and the flavor was out of this world. On top of that, all of the dishes were beautifully presented. Service was was also very good. Would definitely recommend if you’re visiting Chinatown in Melbourne.

I loved loved loved this place! I’m so glad I went! I was originally planning to go to Chin Chin’s, but the lines there were long. We came here for lunch a little bit before they closed for the afternoon. Rice Papr Scrs serves Vietnamese food tapas style. We ordered the set that includes 5 dishes which I recommend doing. Mini bahn mi w soft shell crab — this was delicious and I highly recommend ordered this. It’s a nice spin on the traditional bahn mi and who can say no to soft shell crab? BBQ Lamb ribs — these were good, but not as great as I expected. I think I would have loved it if the meat was more tender and fell off the bones. Still good though. Crying Tiger w Wagyu Beef — pretty good. meat was tender and juicy. Sticky Pork Belly — nice big pieces of pork belly! Pretty good and I recommend ordering this. Tempura Scallops — Believe it or not, this was my least favorite. I felt the bun was overpowering the scallops and it didn’t really go well the scallops. I’d give this a pass. It was a special and not on the menu so I think that says something. Overall, the service here was great. Our server explained everything to us patiently. We sat at the bar and had a great lunch! Definitely come here for lunch.

Had a great meal with attentive service and great suggestions from the waiter. He recommended staying away from the Galloping Horse, and Crying Tiger was my favorite dish. Great cocktails next door while you wait.

This is my favorite restaurant in one of my favorite cities in the world. If you ever happen to go to Melbie, you should have a try at this resto. This restaurant won’t let you down in any way, the interior is pretty(eventhough we sat outside), the staff is really helpfull and friendly and the most important part, the food was presented really pretty and tasted devine. It was a great mix of all the pacific has to offer, asian fusion to the max. I can recommend the thai fried chicken. The only problem is, they don’t take reservations. So when you’re lucky you get a table. The best advice is come early.

Lol our party of 7 got kicked out because we asked to order our own dishes instead of taking part in the supposedly optional«share the love» deal. He said he couldn’t let us order our own dishes because it puts too much stress on the chef? Whatever haha super disappointed.

Wonderful staff and amazing food! The«share the love» option is the way to go as it allows you to choose 5 items to share for $ 59.

Came here a week after travelling around Vietnam, we were underwhelmed by the diluted Vietnamese iced coffee and soggy banh xeo. Galloping Horses(we actually pinched it from the table next to us because they left it mostly untouched — we later figured out why) was simply too fusion that it didn’t work for me. The only thing that we liked was the Thai fried chicken.

This place is my favorite restaurant in Melbourne. You can order 5 dishes for $ 59 in groups of two. We had a table for 4 so we order 5 dishes and the kitchen would portion each plate according for 4 people eating. Item 1: Waygu crying tiger. Steak was tender and very flavorful. The sauce was just perfect! Item 2: stick pork belly with tamarind sauce. This dish was my favorite. The pork was crispy and tender. Oh man this dish was so delicious. Item 3: papaya salad with prawns. Great simple Thai salad with nice big juicy prawns. Item 4: steam pork buns. I’ve had a lot of steam pork buns before and I live in Southern California where steam bun bao dishes are everywhere, but I have to say the buns here, are the best I ever had. The buns were so soft and not to sweet. Item 5: Balinese roast duck. Duck was tender and had a lot of great Asian spices. I loved the food so much that I came back to eat lunch on my last day in Melbourne. We tried their crispy barramundi and betel leaf, both were excellent as well! If you’re looking for unique drinks, their drink menu is so refreshing and good too.

A little too fusion for me, some of the dishes just didn’t work, though kudos for creativity and pluck.

I had lunch here and although service was friendly and food arrived quickly, there were some disappointments. Firstly I never received a drink I ordered– not sure why? And I gave to say the dish I ordered was a bit small– had barammamundi. Very tasty, but a little extra side to choose from to make up a complete lunch would’ve been great. Please think about this fir lunch diners who may come in for lunch and don’t want to have to buy two offer more dishes for a lunch. I noted next door at the Japanese restaurant I frequently dine at for lunch, they provide good size set lunch dishes at reasonable prices too. I kinda envied the soba noodle salad some of the outside diners were enjoying abs likely to go there again next time for lunch. Restaurants need to cater to the needs of their customers. What I did have was tasty and yummy, but insubstantial for lunch.

I don’t even know where to begin with this place. It’s one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I have ever been to. A true stand out in one of the most exciting food capitals this world has to offer.

We had dinner here for three — got there early to put our name down as it’s typically about an hours wait. Great atmosphere and really lovely staff. Most importantly though the food was great! We had the lamb ribs, pork belly, ceviche, Vietnamese rolls, pork buns, coconut wafer and prawns — all amazing! I definitely recommend trying the Ceviche and the pork belly! If you have room also try the lime coconut dessert! Super yummy

Best food I’ve had in a long, long, time. Fantastic, delicious and the waygu beef was to die for. We shared 5 plates for $ 55 and were delighted with every one of them. Fun and friendly staff. Wait for a table was painless — the bar next door and a SMS to say the table was ready.

First Kiss. Everybody remembers their first kiss, whether it was a joyous success or an embarrassing flop. But no matter what the experience, that first touch of your own lips with that of another human being is something that stays with you forever. My first meal after landing in Melbourne was at Rice Paper Scissors(RPS). And I will never forget it. From the very first moment that I tasted those Lamb Ribs, I knew I had just experienced something extraordinary. The Galloping Horses made my heart race, the Steamed Pork Buns had me begging for more, and the gentle caress of the soft shell crab in the Mini Banh Mi had me falling off my stool. And then the Pork Belly came. Let me tell you something about myself. I haven’t cried in years. Some people have stipulated that it’s because I’m emotionally retarded, others that I have somehow secretly sealed shut my tear ducts. But when I put that pork belly in my mouth… I had to stop myself. I could feel myself being overcome with a wave of emotions, the best way to describe it would be like… experiencing your first kiss… if it was with Melanie Iglesias. While Ariana Grande was whispering sweet nothings in your ear and tugging on your earlobe with her adorable mouth. That scenario is actually so beautiful I’m actually tearing up right now. So yes, if you have the chance, go to RPS. Relive that magical first kiss experience, without the embarrassment and awkwardness. I guarantee you’ll walk away with your tongue satisfied beyond measure and a memory you’ll never forget.

Great meal and drinks had here. Lychee and mango coconut water mixers were absolutely delicious; gent mixing the drinks all night questioned if they were sweet/balanced enough as he served and was regularly tasting his mixes. Staff were friendly and patient amidst the constant walk-ins. Friendly towards each other staff, patrons and had a laugh where appropriate. We were instructed to order 5 share plates between two(@ $ 49) which was ample with dessert. Kingfish salad on a rice cracker puff was the best of the five; was a larb like dressing. Bright and refreshing. Crispy salt and pepper barramundi and tempura prawns were also tasty options for the seafood biased. Dessert ice cream sandwich was yummy but poached pears was the better of the two. Pears came with peanut brittle and a sorbet. Not sweetness overload and not a huge serve but just enough after 5 share plates. All plates were fresh and well presented. Serving sizes represented good value for money in my opinion. If there was one nitpick it would be on the service time; plates took around 40 mins to begin arriving. Their wasn’t a spare seat in the place at the time and the volume of orders coming out of the kitchen was huge. Recommended. Tasty Thai.
