Ordered the vegan salad with a side of «smoked tofu». The tofu came out on top of coleslaw with aioli and mayonnaise and was covered in chipotle mayo-no mention of these extras on their menu. I would have given four stars because the salad itself was good, but don’t offer vegan food on the menu and then(surprise!) add non-vegan ingredients(and then not do anything for the vegan when this is brought up, forcing her to scrape the sauce off her overpriced strips of tofu).

A very cute tapas bar!!! Have walked past a few times and honestly thought it was just a café — but I was very wrong! It has a great cocktail menu, really nice sliders and cheese platter. A great great seating area out the back too — make sure you go all the way through. They also have a backstage band area. Great music, great atmosphere and an all round very cute place!!! A must secret visit :-)

Nice little venue. I came here with a group of girlfriends to see a performer and we decided to grab dinner first. We shared a bahn mi, 3 sliders and the noodle salad. Everything was delicious. Loving the oil cloth tablecloths! There are two rooms, one with tiny tables with floor seating; and the main bar with two benches and scattered tables and chairs. Really cute space with free popcorn and average drink prices.

Wow! Everything we ate was delicious. I believe we ate everything they offered on the menu, except for dessert(including the cheeses). As a main, the pork belly sandwich and sliders were the hit of the night. The black bean noodle salad was very fresh and started the evening off perfectly. So, the sliders, salads and sandwiches(including the eggplant and tofu) were all fabulous now let’s talk about the beer selection. You’re spoiled for choice and have to make a decision about which charity you’d like to profit from your beer drinking. Once you get this taken care of you will eventually have a very important decision to make… do you like cheese? If you do, then you will LOVE their beautifully presented, delicious cheddar and blue cheeses. These cheeses are accompanied with a lovely fig paste, dried grapes, pistachios, crackers and bread. I would expect to find this cheese presentation in a fine dining restaurant. What a treat!!! Excellent food, fantastic service and fun outdoor seating atmosphere!

Shebeen’s pretty alright! It’s so hipster right now! It is actually a great social enterprise and not for profit. 100% of all profits from drinks go to the developing world. So that Windhoek Lager from Namibia, BAM profits go to programs in that drink’s country of origin! There are 3 areas, the general area, the bohemian corner I call and the band room(for functions or music acts). I really like the vibe and the fact that it is NFT while also drinking some fine wine from other countries of the world. Definitely have a sneaky peek!

Shebeen is an awesome place. Go. There are lots of things that are great about Shebeen, and lots of things that are just okay, but overall, you have to love it. The food is just okay, but their profits go to charity. The drinks are over-priced, but again, their profits go to charity. They also host Laneway Learning classes(if you haven’t heard about Laneway Learning, google that shit, now!), and you have to love a venue that turns into a community learning space every Tuesday evening. It’s a great venue, with a big patio area out front, which, since it’s in a laneway, gets taken over in the evenings. The décor is very trendy, but still inviting. The drinks menu is extensive and really damn good. They have lots of international beers that I had never even heard of(and I do fancy myself a beer connoisseur). The food menu is varied, with a slew of different sliders(the pulled pork is the best). The staff are also lovely. A friend and I went late(read: drunkenly) on a Friday night, and we ended up chatting with some of the staff who were there drinking and hanging out On Their Night Off! If that’s not a glowing endorsement for any establishment, then I don’t know what is…

Have a beer and bit to eat and do some good at the same time. What’s not to like? I recently visited on a Friday arvo and was surprised that I could still get a table just after 5 so its not a first choice for suits having an after work drink. Instead the place fills up after 6pm with people relaxing in to their evening. Having only sat in the area adjacent to the street, I was curious to watch roadies loading band equipment in the room next door and look forward to checking out the live music venue at some point.

The bahn mi are delicious, you get free popcorn, the lounge chairs are funky, the staff are cool & friendly and money from your drinks goes to helping local community projects from their originating country… what ia not to love? Honestly I’m asking: what is not to love about Shebeen?

Sooooo goooooood. Shebeen puts the relaxed atmosphere of your favourite friends lounge room into one of Melbourne’s most dyamic CBD venues. I come here for Coffee and a Bahn mi during the day, for a lazy afternoon beer, for good chats with friends, for an interesting event or film, for a unique cocktail or delicious imported beer I hadn’t heard of, and for a post event dance to the ever pleasant weekend DJ’s. If you don’t know about their not for profit status you should. If you think there is more friendly and professional staff elsewhere, I doubt it.

Ducked in here on a quiet Thursday afternoon to enjoy a slider and a Beer Lao. The place had a calming effect on me after a day of tramping through an oversized shopping complex. I practically inhaled the pork belly slider(the jalapeño jam isn’t hot at all, have no fear, it’s just delicious), and with each sip of beer I felt the knots in my shoulders loosen.

Get the sliders — they’re on brioche. The pork belly and meatball rocks #swoon

Shebeen is definitely on of the most innovative establishment seen in Melbourne for a long time. It approach is well publicised — I don’t need to go into it here. The vibe is great(if you like relaxed and subdued), tucked away for privacy but still right in the heart of the city action. The décor may be lost on some but be sure to ask the staff about the ethos of the place — it’ll change your view. I’m addicted to their Bahn Mi Sliders and Ginger Beer which are a divine combination. If you want a place in the city at is different from the rest, Shebeen is the place to go.

Banh mi. Pulled pork bahn mi. Stop reading this and order it. Also order as many drinks as you like because YOUWILLBEHELPINGPEOPLE. YESHELPING. All profits from drinks purchased go back to fund projects in the country of that bevvos origin(all of which are 3rd world). So. bottoms up my friend.

Shebeen has replaced the old Manchester Lane Bar and Performance Venue, which I used to love. It was really pleasing to see that it had been reopened(after foreverrrrrr) as Shebeen and finding out that each beverage selection would benefit a different charity. A nice refreshing concept and meant that I didn’t so guilty about an extra Friday night beverage. There’s food available and sections you off into two different areas to eat, which seems a little clunky, but haven’t tried that bit, so that’s the last I’ll comment on that. Get in early Friday night if you want a table, as the word gets out, this will become another standing room only bar.
