Best bar along Southbank for mine, by far, Waterslide ticks a lot of boxes. Cool, cocktail lounge slash speakeasy feel, balcony with great Melbourne views, swing seats, friendly staff, and an extensive drinks menu with tons of great stuff to work your way through. The location is a bit odd — it’s above Southgate food court and the toilets are out in the shopping centre — but after a drink you’ll forget all about that. I feel Waterslide would be much hyped if this was anywhere else, but being located among some tourist-​trap spots seems to deter the crowds… which is yet another tick for me.
