My celiac & and gluten free buddies were very clever and found this place and to all of our delights it was so lovely. At first glance it looks like a regular old fashioned Deli. But once you get past the counter there is a cute dinning room and lovely garden area to sit and enjoy your meals in. The food is beautifully prepared and very very fresh and tasty. The staff were very attentive even though they were very busy and training a new staff member. Anyway, it is a lovely spot. I suggest booking and I recommend the frittata as well as the stuffed mushrooms and the panini. The chocolate bean cake was Devine too. I tried my first ever Matcha late here so I won’t ever forget that! My found out they aren’t really Matcha fans but I am! I recommend getting it with honey and full fat milk if you can have milk. Funnily enough They loved their roobios lates! im not a fan of Roobios tea at any time but my friends raved about theirs. So to each their own. The owners specialize in their house made teas, and are passionate about them, so if you love different teas, I think this is a good place to try something different!

Had a lovely lunch here with my friend. I had the Veg Burger. My friend had the Tempeh burger. Food was delish. Service excellent. We both agreed the décor needs some joozhing up. Maybe some music down low in the background as the atmosphere is a little flat. Also perhaps work on those licensing restrictions… a little confusing.

I was staying at the fabulous Brookleigh Luxury Appartments about 2 kms up the road and they recommended that I go to the Swan Valley Café for a late lunch(around 2pm). This advice ended up being rather coincidental since the Café had just caught my eye on Great Northern Highway as I drove to Brookleigh. My wife had elbowed me in the gut as we shot past it, and I was forced into a marriage-saving mental note that we would indeed go there for lunch. And boy was I glad we did. I can never see myself becoming a vegan or vegetarian; I have too much caveman/hunter-killer in me. But if I were to cross over to «the other side», I’d like to do it here. I ordered the Green Charger(now made by local producer Michael Brothers of Caversham fame) and I instantly knew I had scored a home run. Wow! A blend of spurilina, green apple, kale and lime. I’m already addicted! Staying on the health kick path, we ordered and shared two«burgers». The first was the Veg Burger(GF, V) — Spiced quinoa, chickpea, chia patty with salad, cashew aioli, caramelised onion, served with a crisp garden salad a side dish of tomato chutney. It was huge, hard to cut in two, but totally delicious. The other winner was the BBQ Tempeh Burger(GF, V option) — marinated tempeh, mushrooms, tomato, spinach, caramelised onion, egg, cheese and cashew aioil also served with a side garden salad and this time chilli chutney on the side. For dessert we tried the banana and walnut cake with cashew cream and a matcha green tea to go(made like a Latte with frothed milk but sweetened with honey and agave). Smiles all around for this great finish too. Both meals were filling and hit the bullseye. The young waitress was immensely knowledgeable and forthcoming about the ingredients, preparations and cooking. The Swan Valley Café is not your a 5-star venue drowning in cutting edge interior accessories and fabrics. What vegetarian place ever is. The café is at the back of the building overlook a soothing herbal garden and someone else’s vineyard. It has a roadside café feel, basic tables and chairs, a plethora of teas too good for me to drink, a smattering of health-relatred books, creams, candles and business cards offering everything to take you to some higher spiritual level. However, it is not a hippie hangout with dream catcher feathers, wafts of pungent incense clouds or gaudy crystals from the ghetto. It even has a gorgeous garden view No. Plain and simple, it is a truly down to earth experience, serving really delicious food. In my opinion, this should be a «destination» café when visiting the Swan Valley wineries. Can’t wait to go back for breakfast now.

I’m not a strict Vegetarian but I just can’t get enough of Vegetarian cuisine. Vegetables provide such a variety of colours and flavours. Without meats to rely on, Vegetarian foods invite a liberal use of spices and herbs that always make for a flavorsome dish. Swan Valley Café know this better than no-one. The food is all jam-packed with a variety of ingredients. The broad menu and changing daily specials prove that there is so much you can do with the humble vegetable. My sister and I absolutely loved the vegetarian pattie, which comes with chutney and a generous side of the daily salads. We both agreed it was the best veg pattie we’d tried(and we’ve eaten many!). The whole meal was $ 15 and more than enough to satisfy our hunger pangs. If you want something more filling, you can get the same veg pattie in a burger for $ 12.90. I must also mention the layout, there is a large outdoor dining area set in a low-key, tranquil garden. Lunch was made even more relaxing with the addition of a guy playing acoustic covers on a Saturday.
