I’ve been mourning the closure of Café Putyka on this very site. The hearty Eastern European meals, the friendly service, the Czech beer on tap, and the value for money. Oh, to get the combination of food and service this good so close to the Bridge was a rare treat indeed. Thankfully, Anchor seems to have picked up the baton and is running with it. A pizza & pasta joint with a touch of class, the hearty Italian meals and the friendly service are a welcome relief, even if the beer is bottled(no bother) and the value for money not quite as good(but still, quite good). And the reggae beats? I can’t explain that, but I’m guessing they will soon be replaced by something involving a mandolin. In any case, I am sure to return again and again.
