We were a group of 9 adults and two kids. Taking the advice of the waitress we went for the premium shared meal at $ 75 per head. Main meals are generally over $ 30 anyway and we had the intention of staying for the full amount of time with three courses.
Quality of the food and table service was excellent. The fish and chips for one child was enough to feed three and as it turned out, at the next table this same quantity was given to three kids. We brought quite a bit of wine with us for the BYO and found that their corkage was not over the top either.
We did have excellent weather so the view from the table was pretty good.
Parking can be a pain. You need to get there early and fight with the parking meter or public transport it.

Loved this place. OK, its packed tight, but with a group of people who seem to be having a great time, enjoying great food.
We sat at our table, and were greeted by a most passionate, friendly Italian server. It seems everyone here BYO’s, and we were no exception. We brought a bottle of champagne to celebrate my partners last day of a shitty job. :)
It was put on ice, and attended to as if we had ordered a bottle of Dom from them directly.
The food was great. Better than great.
We had the sharing menu (the less expensive of the two), which was very reasonably priced, and more than enough food. We left stuffed!
We ate at Ormeggio’s three years ago, and didn’t really enjoy it, but Chiosco’s… We will be back. I just wish we had a boat to go sleep on after our meal. ;)

Let’s say that you’re not wealthy and so don’t want to pay for a glamorous dinner at Ormeggio at the Spit: then you can go to Chiosco, their new café next door.
But then let’s say that you’re still not quite cashed-​up enough to splurge on a meal here. Well, you can get a takeaway coffee and a yummy muffin instead. Take it to the park that runs south along the bay from here, or to the playground with your kids.
For me, convenience beats ostentation most days.
