Outstanding Vietnamese food. Fresh and authentic. Being Mosman you probably do pay a little more but it’s worth every cent. Two us had the Vietnamese ravioli as a starter and it was moorish. Made of rice paper rather than flour, the flavours were simple but elegant. It was filled with pork mince, vermicelli, cucumber and carrot and topped with a simple sauce. The twice cooked pork ribs were amazing — tender and fall apart. And the beef and coriander was also stunning. I think I’ve found my new favourite destination for Vietnamese food.

Wonderfully cooked Vietnamese cuisine. Very pleasant atmosphere. Dressing the waitresses in traditional Vietnamese ao dai is a nice touch but more importantly they were all extremely polite and efficient.

I can’t believe I’m first to review Tran’s Vietnamese. This place is practically an institution, having been in business for a long time. We’ve been here a couple of times and it’s always very busy — deservedly so. I think the food is pretty authentically Vietnamese, although I’m not an expert per se. But it is very tasty and has that uniquely«fresh» taste that is so typically Vietnamese. The menu is curiously sprinkled with highly positive reviews of various sorts, which is rather self promoting and I would argue unnecessarily so. Saying that, I did read them and they pointed me towards a couple of dishes I may not have thought of ordering. We had the seafood pancake, shrimp & coconut curry, twice cooked pork ribs and lemon grass chicken — all very good. Service is impeccable. BYOB here, something I always appreciate.
