Ive been going here for years and I’ve never had a dud coffee. Always good, Fiori is delicious. Friendly service and little touches on a cold winters day, like a rug for your knees sets this place apart.

I’ve been a regular here for years. It’s an easy walk from home, nice quiet location, good menu, nice coffee and friendly service. Mt Lawley is heaving with café options these days but Coode St always draws me back. I think the fact that it’s not on a busy road(like Beaufort) really adds to the ambience, you can really kick back and enjoy a weekend breakfast. Personally I’m addicted to their poached eggs and mushrooms, but there’s loads of temptations :)

I’ve been a regular here since ’05 but since becoming vegan in ’14 I’ve not been coming much simply because there are no set vegan(or even vegetarian) dishes and limited vegan options. They do have Rawsome products, soy milk and a few accidentally vegan dishes so it’s not all gloom and doom! Still the same friendly, efficient service, reasonable prices and calming ambiance. The quiet, leafy suburban street location is one of its best assets and the local Fiori coffee is another winner. I’ll keep coming back but I need to badger them to include some vegan options!

This cute neighbourhood café is tucked away in a leafy spot of Mt Lawley. Providing table service, our waiter was friendly and fun yet efficient and professional. We enjoyed good coffee and T2 tea as well as lunch which included the most enormous and tasty club sandwich and a vegetarian version of the bacon/eggs/chipolatas/tomatoes etc dish. Plenty of options in the cabinet as well if something on the menu doesn’t take your fancy. There are separate breakfast(until 11:30am) and lunch menus and there is an extensive cake and slices cabinet, many of which are gluten free and look freshly baked and completely delicious!

Love this place. Been there a few times. A friend first introduced me to this secret little café in Mt Lawley… great to catch up with the girls… or meet a client for a coffee and a chat. Service is great and food is always tasty and fresh. They have a great little function room if you were planning dinner for a intimate group of 10 – 15. Or High Tea with the girls…

Finally made it to the local ‘institution’ that is Coode St Café. I’ve heard it’s owned by a couple of older fellows who converted their old corner house into a coffee shop because they loved entertaining and there wasn’t anywhere nearby… It is off the beaten track, because it’s not on a main street but it’s pretty easy to find. We had brunch on a Saturday and there wasn’t a huge crowd, although it was raining. We opted for outside. The service was really friendly but a little inattentive, we were handed our laminated menus and told to seat ourselves. and after 15mins I had to go inside to see if we could expect table service. I think perhaps our choice to sit out in the cool damp air meant we weren’t much of a priority to the waitstaff. We toughed it out with the help of their complimentary blankets and once our order was taken the coffee and food came very quickly. Pretty standard menu(and yes laminated) but don’t let that put you off. My eggs Benedict and coffee was great, the serve was very generous and ingredients fresh and homemade sauce. It’s a neat ol café and I respect it for not trying to be too trendy or wanky. I felt like I could have been back in my small hometown at the local country café.

Finally got round to feasting on a delicious coode street brunch. Coffee was on point as per usual and the food was fresh & presented beautifully. Service was pleasant and very quick! The corn fritters with tomato relish and smashed avo was fresh and jam packed with flavour. The standout dish though was the grilled peaches on cranberry, walnut and honey toast with ricotta. yum yum yum!!!

Nearest café to my house… and pretty close to my heart. Despite hiding in a little side street of Mt Lawley, and nowhere near ‘the strip’, too many people seem to have discovered it. So popular that its wise to book at weekends and they are pretty busy at other times, too. Popular with groups of all types. There’s a separate small private function room, if that’s what you require. Otherwise you can sit inside where its cosy in winter or cool in summer, or choose an outdoor table in sun or shade. Great advantage to the side street location is ease of parking and absence of noisy traffic. Food is always good and wide variety of choices, savoury or sweet. Top spot. Great asset to my neighbourhood.

Wonderful café tucked away in a neighbourhood. Always have the tastiest coffee with well crafted espresso beverages that you can have there or takeaway. Large selection of ready made food such as soups, meals, pastries, pies, breads, desserts, etc. all of which look delicious. I’ve had the vegetable pie which was superb and huge; well seasoned with a variety of beautifully cooked veggies. Also have tried a couple dessert bars(lemon and caramel) and both were sumptuous. Great smoothies and fresh squeezed juices! Free wifi and great space to relax & enjoy. Always superb service.

I was pleasantly surprised by Coode Street Café. It is in a quiet little area. There were heaps of tables and they are pet friendly. I had the hot cakes with yoghurt and berries which was amazing and filling. I was very shocked when I couldn’t finish my meal. There are a few things on the menu I would like to go back and try. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice breaky on the weekend. They also take reservations!

Just next door from me. Get my coffee everyday from here. And the coffee is really good. Very busy on Sunday.

Great little local spot, had the lamb pie and my partner the slow cooked lamb pasta both with salads. Came out on time and was beautifully fresh and well presented. The sunshine was also out and that made it a great lunch. I will be returning to have Chai and Cake next.

I came here last weekend for breakfast with my mum and sister. While the food was nice, it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. it’s possibly because Coode St Café has so much hype surrounding it, or maybe because I’ve had a lot of great breakfasts elsewhere but I couldn’t help but feel slightly disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the food was still nice, it just wasn’t as amazingly special as I thought it was going to be.

This is my most local local, so it holds a special place in my heart. The Fiori coffee here has never let me down, and the food is pretty fresh. I have to say *however*, it’s time for an intervention. Coode st., you’re in a RUT. The food has remained the same since i can remember it, with the exception of a corn fritter dish, and lets be honest, thats not all that original. Did they miss the memo on this whole«Seasonal menu» thing? I’m bored. Yawn. Time for a new act.

Solid performance this time, coffee was 8 out of 10, service was prompt, professional and friendly and the open chicken sandwich on gluten free bread was very good. I still maintain this place could still get a bit ‘cooler’ with a little effort, but it is a very nice spot for a relaxing lunch away from the high street buzz.

This is the quintessential corner shop style café. The old building is unique and there’s a very neighbourly feeling at the café. It’s the same way Lincolns 102 in Highgate makes you feel; like you’re on the show Neighbours, if Neighbours were cooler and had more heritage listed buildings in it. The coffee was great and when paying at the counter I had to get a muffin to take home with me because they looked so good. It tasted good too! Definitely need to come back for a meal.

If you want to relax away from the weekend crowds on Beaufort St in Mt Lawley, try the Coode Street Café, which is off the beaten track, but worth the effort. It sits quiety on a suburban street corner in the leafy streets of Mt Lawley. It has a large alfresco area in which you can sit, enjoy your fiori coffee, delicious and fresh food and enjoy the company of friends. The service is friendly and quick. The staff are all young and enthusiastic, which is getting rarer around Perth these days. Don’t be put off my the clientele looking a little on the older side. The locals have embraced this place as their weekend haunt. For those who need a big breakfast to recover from the previous nights festivities, try their all day brekkie and the hangover juice. It will give you the energy to hit the town for the second night in a row.

This ones for all the urban adventurers out there. If you love a great find of a café that’s off the beaten track and a little bit unknown amongst the masses, Coode Street Café should be your next port of call. The café also has a two in one name/address thing going on. Handy if you’re like me and can never remember the street anything is on. My mum is emphatic that I should take a map of Perth into the city and learn all the street names. She thinks it’s a complete travesty to get William, James, Beaufort, or whatever the hell the street names are mixed up. Actually, I think I encompassed a few suburbs then. Never mind. When I go to Coode Street Café I will be bang on target, because I don’t really have a problem remembering names of things, just street names. This easy to find, yet tucked away from the main drag café boasts several prestigious awards, many of them for its sumptuous breakfast fare. Everything is made on the premises and the freshly squeezed juices are divine. Walk, run, bike ride or simply drive to Coode Street Café. The best part is you will be able to find it. Oh, it’s number 24 on Coode Street. Think two dozen. If that confuses you even more, think legs eleven times 2 plus 2. Good luck.

Yet another hidden gem on the outskirts of Mt Lawley, Coode Street is home to some of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered. Upbeat, helpful waiters made useful suggestions about what was the best on the menu, and what drinks would best accompany my food. The service was fast, even though the store was busy and my club sandwich was exceptional. Stuffed full of bacon, chicken, egg, salad between 3 slices of delicious wholemeal bread, the waitress definitely helped me to make the right lunch decision. The café was busy, but management have been cautious with table placement, so the noise isn’t bothersome and you don’t find yourself accidentally eavesdropping on your neighbouring tables. The fridge is packed full of delicious baked goods. Tarts, quiches, sweets and savouries often force me to pull out my wallet a second time and grab some things to take home, no matter how full I am after my delicious meal. Not the cheapest place to go, but the quality is outstanding. Really great spot for breakfast too, even if you’re not an early bird, there’s an all day breakfast on offer.
