Murrumba Downs Tavern

I have visited twice before for Rotary meetings & had a dinner voucher… Tonight we shared house dips, very good.
Delicious Pork Belly & apple slaw was a winner. Wines are reasonably priced. Some issues with timing meant that some meals for our group were only just warm, and the extra bread we requested for the dips came late. They weren’t overly busy.

Great atmosphere and good entertainment. Had a steak and a chicken parmy there and it was delicious. Cooked to order, flavoursome and well priced.
I’ll be returning to both eat and drink… And not just because I live around the corner!

Second time now. First time I asked them to add prawns to the vego pasta. It was amazing and so flavoursome. Garlic bread is awesome. Valentine day special for 35 dollars lamb and a chocolate platter with bubbly. Never disappointed

The Rotary Club of Pine Rivers has their weekly meetings here in a private room and the service is excellent. The table is always set nicely and if there needs to be an adjustment in the schedule, the staff will gladly coordinate with the kitchen to delay or speed up the meals.
The tavern has two private rooms that can be booked (Griffin or Petrie Room) for any type of private function. I have seen the room set up in different ways and they also have a podium, television, etc.
I’ve had several meals here and would say that some day are better than others. The bread rolls are delicious. I could eat several of them. Then, the entrees and desserts vary week by week. When it’s a steak and chips with salad, it’s going to be a good night. The barramundi I had last week was horrible. It was WAY too chewy and rubbery. I couldn’t even swallow part of it. I do not recommend getting fish there.
Tonight, I had the mixed grill (pork sausage, lamb shank, and beef steak) with broccoli, corn on the cob, and mashed potatoes. The mixed grill was pretty tasty and corn on the cob was sweet. The steamed broccoli was OK with nothing else added. The mashed potatoes were so bland though. They were the worst part of the meal and even adding salt and pepper didn’t help. Their chips are great so had it been in place of the mashed potatoes, it would have been a pretty good meal.
Desserts with ice cream and carrot cake with a strawberry on top is great. I like those nights. I don’t really like the donut-​like dessert filled with crème with chocolate on top. I would say that most nights, the food is pretty good but some nights are definitely better than others.
The full bar has a decent collection and I love that they have Rekorderlig. I’ve also had their white wines and sparkling wines which are nothing too fancy but does the job.
The public dining area is spacious with high ceilings. You can see into the kitchen which is always good. Nice place if you’re driving through, taking the family out or going out with friends to watch sports.
