Oh hello my local smelly shop! I had no idea these guys has remedial massage available, or regular massage. As well as naturopaths and other holistic medicine practitioners. I was referred here by a friend who got a massage and said that they were good. So being that my neck is causing me all kinds of grief I thought I’d check them out. I’m glad I did. I’ve been going here for about 2 months now and Glendon has worked wonders on my neck and shoulders. I may have even fallen asleep during one of his sessions, ops! My bad. He’s lovely and his knows his stuff. All the appointments happen under the shop where there’s a lovely couched seating area with tea and coffee available while you wait for your appointment and you can watch the world go by through the double glass doors as you wait listening to relaxing background music. Upstairs they stock a whole range of amazing things, from candles, to burn sticks to oils and tea. They actually stock from one of my favourite tea places in here which has delighted me no end. So if you’re walking past and have never gone in, go in and have a wonder.

I first came to Pure Botanicals for a naturopathy session. It was my first time to visit a naturopath, and Sky was amazing! She was very friendly and took the time out to hear my concerns and prescribe a plan for me. The store itself is really nice, with all the items laid out beautifully and organised. The consultation rooms under the shop are pretty good, too. There is free tea(and coffee? Not sure, I always get tea) for people waiting for their appointments to start. I’ve only bought a few things here outside my consultations, the prices are quite reasonable. The other ladies are lovely, too. They also have a rewards system, if you go to this store frequently just ask.

Pure Botanicals is a great shop in Newtown, many of the big name products we use are kind of scary when you discover what is really in them and all the detergents in soaps and cleansers. Shops like Pure Botanicals are offering alternatives to these products, the prices are higher but so is the quality and it is a pleasure to use these products they are luxurious to the skin with dominant ingredients like Jasmine, grapefruit, citrus, spearmint and ylang ylang. Also they are nor just making cleansers, but essential oils and medicinal products such as cold sore liquid, bite soothe cream and anti fungal spray. And they have products for men, babies and pregnant women. Overall product wise Pure Botanicals have the market fairly well covered but also they offer services of acupuncture, tarot reading, naturopathy and massage. Impressively, they have covered the bases of holistic health care. Check them out.

I dunno about you guys, but when I think of Newtown, I don’t think about therapeutic oils and relaxation therapies. That is, until I went into Pure Botanicals. Beautiful scents enveloped me as I entered the store. Their shelves are filled with their own brand of essential oils, bath and shower soaps, shaving products, and more. According to Pure Botanicals, their purpose is to make health care easily accessible, affordable, and supportive. With this in mind, the staff is extremely helpful in suggesting natural methods to enhance one’s health and wellbeing. I had a great experience at the store. Their line of men’s products smells great, as it is not too fragrant. I purchased a face moisturizer to try, containing comfrey and marshmallow herbs, rosehip and Vitamin E Oil. It’s pricey – around $ 40. Not only do they have many products(and an online store!), but also their in-store clinic offers many alternative treatments, including hypnotherapy, acupuncture, and massages. A seasoned professional in the field conducts each treatment.

This shop does a range of things, offers massages, sells soaps, gifts and incense too, but what brought me in here was the cool bike out front belonging to the in house psychic. I’d never been to a tarot card reader before until a little bit of fate led me here, where my first encounter with the mystical kind was well received and pretty damn accurate. So I believe that a little bit of fate should guide you to your first or next reading, but if you need a little bit of help in finding a good one, pop in here and ask for Sarah.

As soon as you enter this shop, a waft of herbs and feeling of calm washes over you. It’s hard to be stressed in a shop which is fragrant with the smell of dried herbs, flowers and oils; where bottles filled with bath salts, lotions and potions are neatly organised. The bike propped up outside decorated with flowers, hearts and tarot cards gives an indication to this slightly whacky but well-meaning and perfumed naturopathy. Free advice is available, 7 days a week, from the lovely people who work here. They offer massage and facials if you feel in need of a pamper, or counselling and tarot reading if that’s more your thing. If you’re feeling down-in-the-dumps, you’re sure to find something in here to help.

You tend to gravitate to this holistic natural therapy shop right in the heart of King St near the Newtown train station. The shelves are filled with handcrafted candles and products specifically designed by the in-house naturopaths on the premises. Purity of essence and natural ingredients have been diffused and made into potent remedies for your household ailments. Whilst you’re deciding between an oil burner or a body scrub for your friends birthday why not treat yourself to a much needed massage by heading downstairs. In the seated lounge area you are encouraged to help yourself to hot tea. Just being in this exotically, beautiful designed environment takes a load off. I selected to have the hot rock massage. You can have a free consultation 7 days with a Naturopath, and they can create a herbal mix for you if there is not one on the shelf that you like. The more time you spend here the more enigmatic the shop becomes, there’s more to it than meets the eye. They couldn’t have won best well-being and natural health provider two years in a row for nothing.
