A little pricey but full of delicious Asian imports, Super Seven Star has saved this once-resident of Northbridge from a night of starvation(because he was too lazy to do any shopping earlier). The front of the store is filled with delicious Asian confections(POCKY!) and those little jelly cups that are just, so good. They’ve got a small selection of vegetables and meats in a display fridge, but fresh is probably the last word I would use to describe them, so I usually just wander by. The back of the store has your standard supermarket fare — Noodles, pasta, sauces, all that jazz. Definitely a little more expensive that your local supermarket, but if nothing else is open and you’re hungry, it doesn’t matter. But if you’re not a starving student who lives nearby, at least check it out while you’re on William st for some awesome candy, you may just find your new favourite treat!

When I have a night on the sauce I get weird food cravings. I’m not talking your usual drunken kebab or hot chips smothered in ketchup. My cravings aren’t as easy to procure as a greasy meal. After a tipple or two too many, I get sugar cravings. Everyone else seems to cater for the hardcore deep dried junk food addicts in the red light district, but those with a love of sherbies and pop rocks are usually left sorely disappointed. Super 7 Star, how I love thee. Let me count they ways. You sell fizzers for 80c. You have a pick and mix section. You have candy for as little as 10c. If I am off my chops and am literally scrounging around for change at the bottom of my bag, you can provide for me within my measly means. You also have the claw. If I so desire a stuffed animal made in China at some ungodly hour you will be there. Bless the folk who provide for the messy citizens of Northbridge after dark.
