Glad we went back here. What a different experience. Staff friendly and helpful. Coffee order taken and delivered promptly. Lovely food. Would go again.

Love over the Road. Food’s always good. Ditto the coffee. It all has a nice friendly feel too. The staff are usually excellent too. I’ll return and often.

I often come to Over The Road café, but only because it’s coffee is good and it’s the closest to home. Sometimes you can walk out feeling so satisfied you don’t want to leave, other times the service completely lets the quality food and coffee down that you’re not sure if you will be back. I love the décor, the ornaments that are on display (the same people own the nursery across the road which is also worth a visit) but the service from the laid back, hipster wannabe teenagers really lets this place down. I sat here today for 10 mins before I hopped up, got my own menu and then 5 mins later someone came and took my order. It wasn’t busy as I’ve seen it but it’s sadly the experience I often get when I come here. Best if you’re not in a rush and want somewhere to sit and relax without worrying about the timeliness of service.

Don’t you love finding a new restaurant that you’re excited to bring your friends to next time ’round? This gorgeous little café is open for brekkie and lunch and is a total gem in Northcote. Great menu including all of your classics and favourites. I ordered the fresh fruit and yogurt as it’s 39 degrees today with a freshly squeezed OJ and my girlfriend had the halloumi with chorizo, tomato etc. We were both really pleased with the food and service and let me tell ya, you’ll find it hard to walk out without buying one or two household knickknacks! There are shelves of nice homewares, gifts, ceramics, candles, cards and so on. I’ll be coming back here with the girls for brunch and maybe I’ll bring the hubby one day as well, yes, he can buy me a cute little owl tea pot or something of the sorts.
