I always use Boxt as my go to place for sending gifts to people — great for thank yous and sympathy gifts and things like that. And Mother’s Day and Father’s Day of course when I forget until the last minute — they usually take orders right up until the night before and deliver the next day! But my parents would never know because the hampers are always so nice and thoughtful — more than just the usual wine, crackers and olives that you get from other places. The Boxt ones always look better put together and the items in the baskets are chosen better — things that you would actually want to use or eat, not just put in the cupboard and forget about for a year! I noticed they’re listed as pricey on here, and it’s true they’re not cheap, but they’re no more expensive than any other gift service, and the products you’re getting are much better I think.

Disappointed. I live in the USA and have a very good friend in Perth. In December I went online looking for a gift delivery service so I could send her something for her birthday, January 1. I know she has one of those birthdays that isn’t easy, so I was willing to have something delivered a day or two before or after. I found that several Australia gift delivery services had notices on their websites saying that demand had been especially high this holiday season so they weren’t taking any more orders. I was disappointed but was glad that they let me know before I made an order. I was excited to find Boxt as it didn’t have any such notice and allowed me to choose January 4th as the delivery day. I spent at least 45 minutes to an hour going over the different gift options and finally chose a $ 62 box of different food items including tea, coffee, and chocolates. I was also charged $ 10 for shipping/delivery. I happily placed my order, knowing I’d be paying an international exchange fee on my credit card. As soon as the order was placed I received a confirmation email and then a second email saying that my order would be canceled and refunded. The email I received is quoted here: **Please note that it is with regret that we advise that as of 12.00 noon on the 19 December 2012 we are not able to fulfil further orders due to an overwhelming response in our Christmas gift selections. We thank you sincerely for choosing Boxt initially and look forward to fulfilling your future requirements. We will of course be refunding your payment in full, forwarding you notification that this has been affected. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and wish you a Happy and Safe Festive Season. With warm thoughts and thanking you for your continued support The Boxt Team ** Obviously I was VERY disappointed that there was nothing on the website saying they would not be accepting orders or cancelling orders. I was frustrated and decided to try and call(internationally) to the company once they opened after January 1. I reached someone on January 2 and was told that the order would absolutely be delivered by January 4th. I assumed that this would be the case. It was not. The package was not delivered on January 4th. At some point a note left and my friend attempted to contact Boxt 4 times. She left messages and never received a call back. Frustration levels ran high and on January 10th I called to ask for a refund. I got a very curt sounding woman on the phone. She wasn’t apologetic at first and said it would be delivered that day. At this point I really wanted a refund because it was already 10 days past my friend’s birthday and 6 days past the delivery date. She insisted that it was already on the delivery van. The package was delivered on the 10th of January. The number of things that could have been improved from ordering to delivery is numerous. I will never used Boxt again and I cannot recommend them to anyone else.
