Best American hamburgers around. This is a deep-fried hipster burger joint. Service is excellent and fast. They have a cool courtyard in the back. So don’t be put off for looks busy from the front.

It’s been a while since I have written a review and Cheeky was so good, I had to dust off my keyboard. I’m a Merican living in Sydney for 2 years now. In the past 2 years I have struggled to find a good hamburger. Well, here it is, the best burger in town!?! We also had the wings, which were just as good. The ambiance was fun and inviting and from the moment we walked in, the staff were friendly, fun and helpful. We will be regulars at this place!

Find this place gets a lot of mixed reviews. People either love it or hate it. I happen to be quite fond of cheeky burger, in particular the Wingman deal! For $ 40 you get 20 hot wings and I love the spicy sauce they are covered in. Very reminiscent of an American sports bar, which is what they are going for and have nailed it. They come with blue cheese sauce that’s just delicious, along with some sliced carrot and celery just to make you feel like you’re getting 5 a day! ;) You also get a double cheeky burger cut in half. The paddies are a juicy medium rare covered in American melted cheese. Half a burger after 10 wings in more than enough. My boyfriend and I struggle and sometimes don’t finish the wings. And to wash it all down you get 2 tap beers. For the value I love the place, however don’t go for the service as its minimal to say the least. Worth a visit and a great hangover cure!

Neil Perry has totally ruined me for burgers since trying his patties at The Burger Project. They really are the best. That said, I still believe Cheeky Burger has a place. The vibe is fun, which makes it a good spot to go for a casual Friday night with friends. There are American beers and cocktails on the menu and the food is pretty good. My pattie was a bit overcooked, and not as juicy as Burger Project, but I did like the way they did the bun-less option which came with roast mushroom and a generous clump of basil pesto. Sweet potato fries were floppy and not crunchy, but the peanut butter cup with my bill, was a nice little edible memento.

Ordered pickup on the phone and asked to have cheddar cheese put on a Shroom burger. Was told that there were no modifications available to the burgers. Double checked on arrival why this was the case and found out that you can add extra cheese to the other burgers. Asked why you can’t add cheese to the shroom burger and was told that they need to «save» the cheese for the beef burgers… How does this make sense if extra cheese is allowed on the beef burgers anyway? I won’t be paying 15.99 again for the privelage of burger to be treated like a second rate citizen for eating a vegetarian option.

I went to Cheeky Burger to celebrate an early Father’s Day with my dad and partner. All was organised, I’d made a booking on Tuesday for 3 people for dinner. When we got to Cheeky we were escorted to a table big enough for 2 very small people! Not cool for 3 people! When questioning this I was met with a «well we don’t take bookings for less than 4 people and the booths are for them». Not a great start. Time for drinks. The waitress was asked what light beers were on the menu. Once again we were met with a dumbfounded look and a «what do you mean light? As in low calorie?» When trying to explain to her she remained confused and wandered off with our order and the question about the existence of light beer. About 10 minutes later we had our answer. Nope, no light beer. 2 x Miller’s and a coke it was. While waiting for our dinner(I believe more because they had 2 people out the front wanting a table) one of the girls noticed our discomfort and so we were finally moved to a suitable table. Then came our burgers — the cheeky porker for me, the triple cheeseburger no pickles for the boy, a cheeky doublecheese for my dad, a side chips(that arrived when the meal was finished) in there somewhere and a chilli cheese fries to share. They were good, lacking sauce but they were good. They weren’t the greasy kind that the bottom part of the bun gets that soaked you can hardly pick it up. The pork was a slow cooked pulled pork burger with slaw and homemade bourbon BBQ sauce. The Cheeseburgers were you basic cheese, meat, pickles and sauce and just added to when you doubled or tripled. And the chilli cheese fries I think were the best part. They were shoestring fries with chilli con carne(not hot) with melted cheese over the top. Delicious! The main issue we had with Cheekyburger is that the service was terrible, I think some attention to that and more sauce on the burgers and we would have a winner!

A damn fine burger. Loved the American diner-esque décor and outside seating area. Cosy blankets and warm heaters made our outside experience perfect — even in winter! Tried the Oreo shake which was heavenly. Can’t wait to go back and try Salted Caramel or PB&J.

Cheeseburger too small. Only got one patty cheese and pickles. Thats it. Not value for money. Good vibes tho.

Damnnnn that was a good burger. I had the ‘cheeky porker’ and it was definitely up there with the best. Good decent size too. My friends had the cheeseburgers and they also looked delish. We had some fries, mac and cheese and yam fries as sides and they were all nice but not mind-blowing. The drinks all sound really interesting. The venue itself is really cool, I love what they’ve done with the space.

I had the Double Cheese Burger with Chips and a glass of wine. The burger was sensational. I’d give the burger a 10⁄10. The staff were friendly and the service was also great. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because their website says«half price burgers on Tuesday’s». When we got there, they told us that you need to purchase alcohol or a Milkshake to get the deal. We still decided to eat there, but then they told us that only some of the burgers are half price. I wasn’t very impressed with the false advertising on their website, but the burger was far too good to stay angry.

Yummy burgers on those sweet brioche-style buns and the patties are really smoky and tasty! Lovely, friendly staff who make you feel welcome. Attracts a diverse crowd from hipsters(who turn up a bit later in the evening), families and ‘mature-age’ folk. Great chilled-out beats in the back courtyard, too.

Um, hello amazing American style burger in Sydney! This place used to be Sloane’s in Paddington, but Cheeky Burger recently opened and it is a change for the better! I may be overly excited being a transplant from the states but I also can vouch for how amazing their food is. The burgers are fairly simple(but damn good) — I opted for a naked burger which subs a portobello mushroom for a bun instead of bread, and also comes with avocado and tomato relish. On Tuesdays the burgers are half price so my roomies went large and went for the double cheeseburger– at only $ 7 on a Tuesday you really can’t go wrong. The kitchen is still fine tuning some of the items on the menu, so they weren’t serving the fried pickles or cornbread the night I went. While I appreciate them not serving something they’re not confident with I would rather them exclude it from the menu upfront until it’s ready. Teasing me with fried pickles is just a crime! CheekyBurger also does brunch on Saturday with $ 5 bloody mary’s. Is there a better deal in Sydney? I think not.

Basically the closest thing you’ll get to In-N-Out in Sydney. For any vegos wondering, the Shroom Burger is pretty good. Mushroom burgers can get old pretty quickly if they’re just a mushroom with a slice of cheese and tomato. This one comes with haloumi which was an awesome surprise when it arrived, plus tomato and grilled capsicum. I would ask to add pickle next time though as this is the best thing about American style burgers. Overall I rate it much higher than the Mary’s version. Good selection of American beers including Anchor Steam. I didn’t try the sides except for the fries(good thin cut) but would order the deep fried pickles in future. Just wish they did a chicken burger on their regular menu.

I’m on the fence for this one, so I suppose this is a 3.5 with room to be a solid 4 and even 5 if some changes are made. At first glance, this place looks promising and awesome. The menu has cheeseburgers, philly cheesesteaks, sloppy joes, cornbread, buffalo wings, mac n cheese and other delicious American fare. It looks like Americans run it too, as two of the waitresses were as is one of the chefs. They have specials like half off burgers on Tuesdays, and a special fried chicken burger on Thursdays for $ 12. I asked about the Philly Cheesesteak and the chef is from Philly, so I thought… this place must be legit. So we order our food and then we wait. Then we wait. Then we wait some more. And wait. After ~40 minutes our food comes out. Total order of 3 Double Cheekyburgers, 1 Philly Cheesesteak, and 3 fries(1 yam fries.) I get that you’re a new business but you really need some more cooks(only 2) in the kitchen, because burgers should not take 40 minutes to come out. Double Cheekyburger –This burger was pretty good. Love the pickles, meat was tasty and not too shabby, but it wasn’t too cheesy and the bun to meat ratio was a little off, as the bun was much bigger than the two patties. I’d come here again if I was in the area, but if I’m craving I’ll stick to Burger Project when it comes to cheeseburgers. Philly Cheesesteak –When this came out I was a bit disappointed because the chef’s from Philly and the roll is wrong. I guess you can chalk it up to not being able to get amoroso rolls here, which is fine… but again there wasn’t enough provolone cheese. Otherwise the taste and ingredients was the closest to one you’d get in America(sans Whiz) that I’ve seen here, compared to say… the one offered by Porteno and Gelato Messina at Sydney Festival(terrible) Besides that it’s a cool vibe here, there’s a courtyard in the back to kick it and hang with friends over drinks and food. If they can speed up the kitchen and fix the buns/rolls this place could be something.

Move over, burger joints! There’s a new burg in town. Going with the ‘Murcan diner motif, Cheekyburgerbar offers… well, burgers, and all the usual suspects one would expect from a diner — comfy, massive booths, draft beer, wings and the like. The Cheeky Porker($ 13) was seriously delish — all porky and BBQ-y and just yum. Cheeky Cheeseburger($ 10) was delish as well. Very simplistic — just bun, patty, cheese, pickles, relish. But the ingredients were spot on — the bun was soft and blanketed the meat, almost sinking into the patty; the patty itself quickly griddled for crisp crust; ‘Murcan cheese melted all over the meat(bravo — melted cheese on the patty is the WAY, brutha!) with crunchy pickles — and that SAUCE! In no way traditional, but tasty as hell. Almost like a green ketchup. Must be homemade. So good. Chips(an extra $ 3) are standard shoestring(snore), buffalo wings pricey for the portion(7 wings for $ 13) and not crispy, but my wing-loving guests scarfed every morsel. Fried pickles were the shiz too($ 7 for around 5 pieces). If they had waffle fries or curly fries, five stars hands down. This foodie predicts 2015 as the year of the Cheekyburger!
