Menu is quite simple but The food is really good! It’s a little chaotic when busy, no menus, have to fight for a table and line up to order food, but I will say it was worth the wait! I had the beef carpaccio which was nice but not the best I’ve ever had, however I tried the burger also and it was delicious !

The location and views from this spot are fantastic — overlooking the water watching sailboats, float planes and motor boats sitting at wooden picnic tables on the jetty. However, the food is really expensive(probably about 2x what you would pay elsewhere in Sydney for comparable quality) and the long lines can be horrific. The fish n’ chips were good, but for $ 29 I would expect more than two small pieces of fish with thick cut chips. The milkshakes look amazing, however they aren’t very thick and the caramel ones lacked much flavor. Try to come during off hours to secure a table and avoid some of the longer queues.

The Boathouse… most will know it as the bait shop and jetty from Home & Away. It has a fab location looking out over Pittwater one way and the Golfcourse the other. The café is rustic but modern and offers a quite modern aussie menu that wouldn’t look out place on Masterchef. Unfortunately thats where my love dies for this place… the service was incredibly slow, from taking orders, serving and actually cleaning the tables after. The food servings were average, especially for the high prices paid. Glad i only have to visit when the wife wants to go to Palm Beach!

The location of the Boathouse is pretty hard to knock — by a golf course on the wharf overlooking Pittwater. O dear how dreary! It is ridiculously popular, with a huge queue for food and a wait of at least 45 for food, but the food is pretty good, not spectacular, but good. Flathead and chips was great, the calamari very crispy, the steak sanger with haloumi serviceable, and the oysters definitely fresh. Its an unusual set up in that it sells flowers, milk, bread, bit of produce, coffee and cakes and full café fare. Recommended and worth a second visit.
