Waitress doesn’t speak a word of English. Asked for two large glasses of sparkling water and she brings out two 1.25lt bottles of water. Just three tables in the restaurant and we had to ask for a waitress after 15 minutes to take our order. Eventually our food came out, Peri peri chicken salad and really it was pretty ordinary for what once was a Perth City icon. Sorry guys, massive fail.

This store has been on that corner since my childhood. I hadn’t been there since that time, but for some reason I had it in my head that, although clearly not fine dining, the food was at least fresh and good fare. How wrong I was. A friend and I were short of time for lunch and went in there today. He ordered a burger and chips, which he visibly struggled to finish, describing it as «cardboard sandwiched between a different variety of cardboard». Just looking at it, you could tell the bun was cheapest home brand stuff. I ordered fish and chips, and got reheated chips and the kind of battered fish that you buy from the supermarket and heat at home in your stove. If it had been a $ 5 meal outside a hardware store, it would have been entirely acceptable. But nearly $ 20 for such a meal when there were plenty of much better options for that price within a 200m radius — that’s what really hurt. If your culinary sights are set anywhere above McDonald’s, avoid like the plague.

This has been my first experience at fast eddies so as I don’t know him very well, fast Edwards… Not really much to comment on the experience it was neither good nor bad, I ordered coffee which again was neither good nor bad pretty average overall but it was caffeinated and did the trick The décor is very kitsch and I assume universal with the franchise although I didn’t love the flashing fairy lights(is that normal or a Christmas special) Not a bad place to go but I can’t see myself coming again unless it’s midnight and I need a coffee and nowhere else is open. The wait staff were very friendly and everywhere very clean

Reminds me of a classic old-school style American diner with all your favourite milkshakes, burgers, breakfasts, cakes and desserts. Would not recommend ordering items such as the steak or seafood though — this is best left to proper restaurants.

I went here as a convenience factor late on a Sunday night after arriving in Perth for a work visit. I purchased a burger with the lot combo, and have to say… well at least the place was open 24 hours and I could get something to eat. The food was OK, and in-line with expectations of a 24 hour joint that I assume is there to serve drunk patrons. After leaving the wrapped burger on a plate for 2 minutes I returned to a pool of juice, which in-turn made the burger near on impossible to handle as it self-imploded :) Otherwise the burger itself was OK, nothing special. The chips in the combo were very bland, to the point I threw out half the box. Definitely a post-night drunk hangout spot, however if you can I’d just find a 24 hr McDonalds if possible as the combos here are quite costly and the product not fantastic.

Someone asked if you could say anything bad about Fast Eddys. I could say a few things. The reason why it tends to be busy is that it is open 24 hours and there is no many of those places around in Perth. There place is American diner style, with shakes, burgers and fries. The service depends on the time and day. It can be a little bit all over the place. The food is passable, nothing particularly special or crappy.

I struggle to find fault with Fast Eddys in any way. Maybe its my lack of culinary standards, or my complete and utter bias towards any meal that involves burgers, but whatever it is i love it. Open 24 hours and within stumbling distance from the Murray street nightlife strip, the majority of my experiences have been alcohol tainted however dont let that put you off. It has a sit down restaurant and a takeaway section, and while there I am a devout follower of the Eddy burger and strawberry milkshakes they make. They are always consistently good and fill you up enough to survive the wait for a taxi home.

Can you say anything bad about Fast Eddy’s? This one in particular is never empty and I’ve been here at weird times of the day & night. One afternoon I came here to «study» and ended up sitting here for several hours, devouring plate after plate of wedges and chips and a few smoothies too while I spend most of the time on my laptop idly browsing the internet, to walk out and only have a $ 25 bill. That’s what I call good food for a great price. The whole time I sat outside in the sun, enjoying myself, the food came out quickly after I ordered it and I wasn’t harassed by the wait staff while I was there! I love Fast Eddy’s and if I want good simple diner food — I would definitely go here if I was in the city.

After you’ve been taking the crowd to a better place at the neighbouring karaōke bar, a Cop The Lot Burger is usually in order in the wee hours of the morning. This is a fast food restaurant so be prepared to cop the lot from the crowd of jersey shore wannabes also looking for a feed before heading home from a night out. The burgers aren’t gourmet but they are close and the chips are delish too. Watch the drips these burgers are sloppy. Luckily you can generally get a cab for a swift getaway from the corner or go back to karaōke to build the crowd up just to break them down again.

When an establishment has been around as long as Fast Eddys has, it’s got to have some good things going for it. That it now has outlets in various shopping centres means its not just the easy palettes of hungover clubbers it’s got to cater too. The food, then, is got to be of quality standard. This is where I used to come to regularly after a big night out, for a big juicy BLT sanger with heaps of bacon and the yummiest aioli dressing. On sobre days, I’d drop by for a quick Chicken Caesar Salad, and, although I know it’s not exactly organic chicken they’re generously heaping over them lettuce leaves, I still love this Fast Eddys staple. The one criticism I’d give this joint — which falls halfway between a fast food outlet and a brasserie — is to give the outside a paint job. Sure, ye olde and ye rusty signs look quaint inside the place, but your main signage is your brand which is your reputation which is your… you get the drift.

So, it’s around midnight, middle of the week, you’ve just come out of a concert and you’re hungry. If it were any other city, you’d have your pick of places to go, but this is Perth, so there is very limited choice. However, during these moments when brainstorming where to go it seems collectively a group will snap their fingers and remember«Fast Eddy’s!» Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, they have several cafes around including Carousel, Midland, Morley and Perth, and with a menu to suit whatever late night food you are craving. They serve an, ‘anytime menu’ and as a big believer in the breakfast, dinner combo, ‘brinner’ I am a fan. Granted I have only been here during the early hours but I’ve never had any issues finding a table and the service has been friendly and the foods come out fast. I’d recommend their nachos, you get a large serving for your money and it is a great late night snack. Also if you have just finished a night of drinking and dancing and are standing out on the road trying to hail a cab with the hundreds of others who have just done the same, head into the city’s Fast Eddy’s have a coffee or food, sober up to avoid the morning hangover and then go out a grab a taxi, outside this café is the best place to get them anyway!
