We went here for a pre theatre meal with very little time to give this place the justice it deserves, however the staff were incredible. They gave recommendations that worked with our timeframe and got some delicious dishes out quickly without compromising quality. We enjoyed the duck egg custard and the stinging nettle as starters — both delicious, followed by the coral trout and the duck… again very well presented and delicious. Kudos goes to their high service levels with adaptability.

Print Hall is a spectacular restaurant in a lovely setting. We dined at the bar on this visit and they have a huge selection of food on offer. Their wine list is amazing and when you meet their sommelier, you will know why! On this visit I had the fish and it was beautifully cooked. My husband had the burger and he loved it!

Came here on a Friday night, enticed by the $ 1 pint you can get from downloading their app. The pint itself wasn’t my cup of tea, but there is a really good beer selection here, and I believe they rotate the taps too. It was pretty crowded and noisy, and the ambience is much better upstairs at Bob’s Bar, but overall it’s a pretty good spot for a drink.

Im a Fan of the finely crafted degustation, Am familiar with food trends and I love to explore new ingredients. I looked forward to my birthday dinner at Print Hall as its ratings were good. Sadly however I was very disappointed. Excruciatingly slow service combined with ill conceived dishes of baffling taste thoroughly Underwhelmed. I love the concept of foraged food however it still has to be an exciting and tasty dish. The crab was blanded out to extinction, the salt bush butter was textually horrible and not at all salty, it missed the target, the potato risotto was sharply one dimensional in taste to the point of Arrghhh and the pulled beef Baton with the over smoked fillet bashed together so many jarring flavours and textures that I couldn’t eat it at. I have never returned a plate of food in this calibre of restaurant in my life but I was very over it by this plate. The ‘complementary’ ice berg lettuce salad was soggy and limp. The presentation of the dishes was also dull, particularly colourless and boring. Bread was nice, desert was good if you don’t like sweet things, cheese was lovely. Overall however, I’m sure chef thinks it was all very clever but in overly trending the food they forgot the most important thing for the diner. It has to taste fantastic. Print Hall didn’t deliver on this Occassion. For me a case of The Emperor’s New Clothes. Near $ 600 not well spent

Nice wine list, delicious(if pricey) food. Quite noisy, so if you like to have a quiet chat this is not the place to be. Same goes for if you want to sit down. Overall average in my books as fighting to get to the bar is not my cuppa tea. However, food and drinks are more than edible so really it depends on what you’re after

We had a four course dinner waiting at the Print Hall Dining Room, an upmarket restaurant hidden behind the Print Hall bar(ground floor). This a special occasion restaurant and pretty damn fancy. You have two options for dinner: four courses($ 110) or the degustation($ 150). My blue manna crab entrée was not super exciting. The strongest flavour was ‘ocean’… However, the camel tartare was a fantastic punchy combination of raw meat, wattle seeds and bush tomato. It was so weird to taste the savoury dijon mustard ice cream, but it tasted incredible with the tartare! The unagi with strawberries was a Japanese fushion dish with a curious combination of flavours which included strawberries, puffed rice, riberries(which are native to Australia), bitter orange and sour plum. The duck egg custard was just phenomenal. A gentle tap shattered the crust of sugar and porcini, which met the incredible medley of tender and earthy mushrooms, the satisfying crunch of roasted hazelnuts, and an outrageously creamy duck egg custard. THEBEST! The beef sirloin with black garlic was perfectly cooked and rested. Somewhat understated, but quite tasty. The duck main was juicy and I enjoyed the creamy sheep’s yoghurt, but kale doesn’t belong on any plate of mine(baked, mushy or otherwise). Phwoar! The deconstructed black forest cake stole the show — chocolate mousse, sour cherries, hazelnuts and dark chocolate ice cream. Mmmm sensational!

Great venue for a drink, my wife and I dropped in here after a river cruise on the Swan for a cocktail or two. make sure you’re dressed appropriately as I know people who have been knocked back for not wearing a collar or shoes. The venue is pretty impressive, bar staff are really good and know how to mix some great cocktails. Will be back to try the food next time!

Just stopped in for a quick drink on a surprisingly quiet Saturday night. Huge bar with friendly staff but lacked the atmosphere of nearby bars. Maybe it was less busy than normal so felt too empty and characterless. Haven’t tried the food here so might go back and try that in future.

We bought tickets to the Adriano Zumbo event, it was $ 150pp plus drinks for the cheapest tickets with drinks costing extra, tbh I didn’t care, it was Zumbo so it was worth it, right? Nope, I was wrong! I posted on Unilocal when I checked into Print Hall I wanted to marry him, but by the time I left I was beyond disappointed. Before we had even attended the event I questioned what the night would be like when I was one of 6 recipients of an emai with receipts with the same credit card number — which by the way, wasn’t mine! How unprofessional. The canapés, entrée and mains were to be cooked by Print Hall and Adriano Zumbo was to do 4 courses of desserts. We arrived at about 6.45pm, the table menus clearly stated ‘canapés on arrival’ but it wasn’t until nearly 8pm that these said canapés were served; I was starving by then! They were quail ‘drumsticks,’ a thyme crackle with garlic mayo and another. Entrée followed half an hour later — potato and stinging nettle fermented bean curd, fat hen and goat curd. It had a range of textures and flavours; N really enjoyed it. Mains was roast lamb en tourney kohl rabi, tandoori and spring onion. I was given a jus as the tandoori had nuts, it was great they were considerate and happy to substitute. We were lucky because we were one of the first tables to receive our mains. The lamb was rare and delicious, N said the sunflowers accompanied the tandoori well but as I did not have this sauce, it was just weird having seeds throughout my meal. An hour and 20 minutes later, at 10pm we received our first Zumbo dessert — caramel, hazelnut, strawberry, peanut butter, French fries. This was much less than dismal in my opinion. There was no substitution for the peanut butter so I received a giant plate with a tiny portion and French fries on the top and that was it. What? When he came out to speak with us, someone asked if he got them from Maccas! They really tasted like Maccas fries and that was one of the most enjoyable parts of his dish — frozen french fries… This surely was disappointing. The accompanying tawney port was nice though. Over 40 minutes later the second dessert course was served — black rice, blackcurrants, liquorice, hojicha tea. Again, it was disappointing. It was a bigger portion but the only element I enjoyed was the blackcurrant glass, it was like a super thin and crispy roll up! The rest of the dessert I did not understand or enjoy and so I left most of it after tasting all elements. The service was interesting with this dish because we were given the desserts that were made for the customers next to us. I started eating and then a waitress came to our table with 2 new dishes and then turned around and legged it back to the kitchen. She then retuned to ask what I had eaten — luckily I was taking photos for Unilocal because they served me a nut dish that was not intended for me and the dish was taken and replaced shortly after. 25 minutes later at 11.07pm we received the third course. It was rice wine, vanilla, berries and yuzu. There was one thin slice of a horizontally cut strawberry, a few blueberries, 3 raspberries, some cream and rice wine sorbet. It was probably the nicest dessert we had but by 11pm I was too tired to completely enjoy it. We waited another 35 minutes and the cutlery was still being placed on tables so we left and did not have the third course. When we exited I counted 5 other tables that had already been emptied. I was not surprised people left — we heard another customer say their car park closed at 11pm earlier and ours closed at midnight. People have to go to work the next day and have children, at 20 to 12, waiting for another course was not a priority — sleep was. After the final dessert course Zumbo was still to sign books and speak with customers. We decided it wasn’t worth our time.(Had we enjoyed the first few desserts we would’ve stayed) I understand that there must be a kitchen change over of chefs, a clean and pack up and set up for new meals. If Print Hall was able to execute their canapés and entrée on time, perhaps we would’ve been able to have all courses and we may have had an earlier night. I am so disappointed that a $ 360 meal was still running at 11.40 on a weeknight and we didn’t get to have the last course. The room looked lovely and most the service staff were attentive. I was happy with the service mostly… Minus my plate being pulled out from me because I was given the wrong dish. All in all such a poorly organised and executed night, my expectations were much higher than what was delivered considering how amazing Adriano Zumbo’s desserts are in his concept stores. Being such a sweet tooth, we always visit at least once when in Melbourne, however, if Zumbo was a permanent fixture at Print Hall I wouldn’t return and had I not enjoyed his incredible cakes, macarons and other creations I wouldn’t understand why Zumbo has the respect of so many. Unfortunately, he lost mine last night

This hidden gem in the city is amazing! Great coffee and ambiance. We sampled the lunch menu today and loved the two dishes we had. Salt and pepper squid and buttermilk crispy chicken. The squid were light and crispy as. The dish was served with generous greens great to balance out the ‘unhealthy’ dish. Buttermilk chicken was scrumptious! Served with a healing side of siracha to spice things up a lil. Full of flavour and not to oily too. Just how I like it. The venue has a great indoor and outdoor space. Perfect for a quick lunch bite in between work hours. They serve a great choice of sandwiches and pastries also ideal for a quick take away for city workers :) Staff was very friendly and attended to me quick. Will definitely sample more of their food again. Too bad I don’t work in the city :/

Ended up here ordering a counter meal dinner after walking around the CBD for over an hour trying to get into places on Valentine’s Day. My colleague & I were from Sydney on business and thank goodness we had an expense account otherwise even the bar menu here could have sent me broke! We couldn’t decide on what to order so we grabbed the Brisket Sliders, Buttermilk Chicken & a Steak each. The sliders were delicious & the chicken also! The chicken hot sauce was too much for me and something simpler to dip the chicken in would have been nice. The onion rings with the sliders were average didn’t waste my time with them. The steak was a sirloin lots of fat on it, plenty of flavour but overall wasn’t too impressed. The steak came with half a plate of chips whilst they were delicious there were too many and I could have done with some Veg that would have gone down better. Overall the meal was tasty & full of flavour however the price tag was just a bit over the top for bar food! We paid $ 130 for two appetisers, two mains &2 soft drinks! I would have been happy to pay around $ 100 but $ 130 was a little steep.

Plenty of awards but is it worth the cost? Me and Susan decided to finally give the«Dining Room» a go last night and found most of the acclaim and hype justified. As soon as you enter the dining room the exuberant buzzing of office people having an after work Friday night drink was instantly drowned down to a quieter buzz. We were greeted with a warm smile and taken to our table. The setting is quite elegant and formal in my opinion and the lighting seemed appropriate for the occasion. The exception service carried on throughout the night as a waiter was straight over to offer water for the table. Complementary canapes were brought out not long afterwards. A nice way to start the night whilst deciding what to order for dinner and a drink. We opted for the 4 course option priced at $ 110 each. The courses seem to go 1) Cold entrée 2) Warm Entrée 3) Mains 4) Desert. Susan went with 1) BLUEMANNACRAB almond, enoki mushroom, bean sprout 2) FORBIDDENRICE local squid, pig, wood grilled chilli 3) PANROASTEDBARRAMUNDI coorong pippis, chard, paprika, anchovy and finishing with 4) SMASHEDDARKCHOCOLATE pecan, raspberry, thyme. I decided on 1) Duck Liver Parfait with toasted brioche 2) Yabbies with smoked bone marrow(a special on that night) 3) DUCKFROMWAGIN and finishing with 4) «WHISKYANDCIGARS» lochan ora, cocoa nib with the 72% option. We washed this down with a few glasses of delicious Chenin Blanc and some very well executed cocktails. For each course our favourites were 1) both were very good as the crab was very light and refreshing but the duck liver parfait was very flavoursome and was rounded off with the brioche 2) The yabbies and smoked bone marrow were a clear winner and had you wanting more 3) The duck was a stand out again as it was cooked perfectly and was fully of great flavour combinations and 4) The smashed chocolate was simply amazing. Service throughout the dining experience was exceptional and the sommelier was very knowledgeable of all the wines on offer as expected. We were also given a complimentary palate cleanser before desert and a «petite four» to end the night. Our waiter throughout the night was friendly and very approachable too. We left pretty content foodwise but did make the following conclusions: The meal was spaced out(it took almost 2.5 hours), meal portion size whilst not ridiculously small was smaller than average for that type of dining(above a dego size but smaller than normal restaurant portions) and … the cost! The cost of dining here is quite a lot, and seems to be marketed more for the once a year type visitors or special occasions types. If your counting your pennies maybe save up for a bit before booking but if you do you won’t be dissapointed by the quality of the food, it presentation, the wine list and the service.

What an experience, I cant wait to go back her for lunch. To me it was worth every cent and the food was excellent. We had a entrée and main dish and were not disappointed. Not to mentioned they presented with a free starter to share, sometimes it is the personal touches that leave you feeling great about spending a lot of money on food. If you have an entertainment voucher you can try this place with a discount which makes it a yearly treat for me. I will see you for my 2015 excursion!

Excellent! Ticks all the boxes, service, atmosphere, quality! Went on a Friday night for dinner and it was incredibly busy, but that is what I love about this complex, it’s busy but not in a way that ruins your night. We were seated in the quiet dining area just opposite to the bar and it was so secluded and romantic I really enjoyed it all. The staff were so attentive it would be rude to not mention them! Everything I ask for and so much more! My friends and I opted for the 4 course menu. I can’t even tell you a favourite meal because all were just beautiful. From entrée through to dessert I was gobsmacked at how lovely everything was. I would reccomend this place a million times over! Definitely a more classier end of business so please dress to impress, be courteous and join the fun of those around you.

This hipster spot garners a collective ‘meh’. Indicative of Perth’s restaurant and bar culture, the drinks were expensive, the food overpriced and mediocre and the service moving between patronizing, rude and just plain bad.(The first girl to talk to us was somewhat nice, one of the other servers was a bit good — by Perth standards — but the pushy manager made everyone at our table upset on some level) At least most of my fellow drinkers didn’t stink of the ‘desperate irony’ that I find at most young professional bars.(Though there were a few) $ 6 for cashews? Really? Give me some free bar peanuts and a beer at a small friendly pub over this any day.

Not really sure what the hype is about. Odd drinks — a vodka soda served in a water glass so it was a watered down waste. Food was very hit and miss. One round of oysters was great… The second, a different type(pushed heavily by waitstaff) was totally underwhelming. The salt duck was just nasty, reminiscent of airline food, flabby uncrisped skin and rubbery meat(also pushed by waitstaff). No comment was made when it was retrieved mostly untouched. Service was ok but pushy. Pretty much hipsterville. I guess the scene is more important than the food. Great space but really not enough reason to return.

Print Hall is both an upmarket bar and restaurant; I am baseing this on more the restaurant which in itself is a challenge. I have had terrific experiences being treated to the finest service and offered great advise around food and wine advice on my first visit; however in a subsequent visit was ignored and even after grabbing the waiter attention was all but told that they were focusing on more important people! I can only presume the above is not normal so I am willing to give them the benefit if the doubt though with so many other places competing for my money I admit I have not returned since. Let’s get serious and discuss the food; here they really shine all my dishes have been really well thought out and executed as you may expect and the portion sizing allows you to try the three course meal if you desire. The wine selection is well side serving of the awards they have own and is outstanding, however if you are not ordering top dollar bottles you may not get access to the best sommelier, but I believe most of the staff have a good appreciation so that is okay. I appreciate they are part of a group of venues trying to push a smart dress code in Perth however I have seen it applied inconsistently which I find sends mixed messages — but that could just be my experiences?

I met up with an old friend and fellow blogger for lunch at Print Hall. Sarah Louise is a Perth girl that left WA for bigger and brighter things about six years ago. In her absence, Perth has changed immensely. I thought it was only fitting to take her to the one of the places in town that has had the most dramatic of transformations — Brookfield Place. When Sarah lived in Perth it was merely a derelict hole-in-the-ground. We stopped by Print Hall for some lunch. We found prices on the bar menu surprisingly reasonable. I had the«Wood fire grilled pork». It’s house smoked in BBQ sauce and served with slaw & sweet corn($ 29) This has got to be one of my ALLTIME favourite dishes. I’m not entirely sure what cut of meat was used, but it was basically like eating super tender ribs, without any bones. I LOVE ribs. To have the same experience — sans sticky fingers — was wonderful!(and much more lady like) ABSOLUTELLYDELICIOUS. The slaw and corn cob were great accompaniments. Sarah had the«Local Blue Mussles» cooked with chili and celery and served with grilled sourdough on the side($ 17). She really loved them. They were big in size and in flavour. I was really impressed with the food at Print Hall. My previous visit was for Jerry’s Oysters and Champers — so it was great to try something a little more substantial this time. We had a lovely catch up and lip smacking-ly scrumptious lunch.

First impressions were: classy. The staff are all very professional and we were offered water and drinks once seated. Like Claire H, our water glasses were constantly being topped up(even when we hadn’t had a sip!!) A glass of italian bubbles to start as we pondered the menu. What to choose. In the end I decided on the Blue Mana Crab. The dish was delicious and the flavours complimented each other. For main I had the sirloin with a side of broccolini and mashed potato. Ordered medium rare, it came out perfectly cooked. The broccolini was reminiscent of Bivouac which we had been to the night before. The mashed potato was really nice and went well with the sirloin. It was a 350g steak, did not manage to eat it all so a great choice if you are hungry! Of course all of this does come at a cost. Entrees average $ 28 Mains average $ 44 excluding the lobster which is $ 75 Steaks average $ 57

Friday night at Print Hall — teeming inside the bar but half full in the restaurant. I’m going to make an educated guess that this wont last long… A wall of impressive wines divides the drinking from the dining. Even though the bar next door is gushing with people, you feel divided enough that the noise doesn’t intrude. If anything, it adds energy. The Food: The white asparagus, gnocchi, artichoke dish was beautiful. An artistically plated harmony of subtle flavours and melty textures. I’d order this again. The size and presentation of mains are promotive of a three-course meal. If you have an appetite I suggest two courses or getting some sides. 2 x mains = $ 80 Well-groomed waitstaff are knowledgeable, European and maybe a bit over enthusiastic(not once letting our waters reach below the ¾ mark) This was my first time tasting the creations of David Coomer, and expectations were met, however not exceeded. If I had to compare the cuisine to another in Perth, it would be Restaurant Amuse, except with a little more rustic and a little less Heston Blumenthal. Add it to the bucket list all you serious foodies out there.
