Went here last Tuesday for a meal after wine tasting at Rigby’s. 25 aud for a lovely dinner plus wine! Delicious meals and we couldnot resist the dessert. When we were here it was quiet; only one other table dining. Loved the privacy created with booth benches. Nice and cozy feeling!

I don’t normally write reviews on places I have visited. I leave that to others and go by the star rating the place has been given. However I felt so amazed by the service of one of your employees I thought it would be unfair for him not to get recognition of his work. His name was Jeff. You could tell he was totally dedicated to his job and we could not have asked for a more attentive service person. Without being intrusive Jeff knew just the right timing. He should be very proud of the way he conducts himself to customers. More so the George should be extremely grateful to have a staff member who dedicates his time to his customers like he does. The George either has amazing staff training or a great eye for choosing the right people. If this level of service was anything to go by I shall certainly be returning to the George and bringing others with me. What you have is a very rare commodity in the city. Kudos to you.

i took my parents and partner to the George for high tea on Saturday, and the experience was lovely :) the booking process was easy and professional, the décor and set up was great and the service was amazing!
the food was breathtaking with a modern twist to some traditional dishes eg: Croissants with chicken mayonnaise and corn, salted caramel and chocolate fudge tarts, Smoked salmon bagels, just to name a few!
i really liked the experience so encourage anyone to go along!

We had the pleasure of going here not too long ago.
The place upon arrival exudes class and style. Great décor, and the ambience is fantastic.
Promptly seated and addressed for drinks straight away. Plenty of great menu options with all queries answered by the staff looking after us.
The meals were quick in arriving and were presented very well. Extremely tasty, filling and the desserts finished it off nicely.
Friendly and courteous staff who catered to our requirements with the utmost respect and professionalism.
Definitely a place to go for a romantic date, or to impress business clientele

I went here for high tea with my bridal party. The décor was lovely and the available packages were explained well. This high tea was more traditional and had scones but they had a lovely twist, they were red creaming soda scones. Yummy. The sparkling wine was average. The other high tea food was lovely and it was a great setting. The décor was delightful. The only thing to fault was that the tea was brought out when we had pretty much finished eating. I felt left wanting more food, it seemed I wasn’t getting as much as other places for the amount I was spending. I enjoyed it and it was well priced but feel they may have to up their game a little to compete with other high teas in Perth.

Time for an update.
This review is for their restaurant.
I have been here a couple of times in the past few months. On the last visit, we arrived and was warmly welcomed. The waitress was happy to give us extra time to decide what we were going to order.
I ordered the steak (rare) which was cooked to perfection. Add a side of greens and this is one of the better steaks I have had for a while.
Unfortunatly I could fit dessert in so I left it at the steak, but I will go back again.

Was given a voucher for a champagne breakfast … so headed to The George this morning. Have been here for drinks on a Friday morning but never had a meal here before.
Was seated in a booth, by a very friendly young man, who explained to us what was included in our voucher.
Breakfast was delicious, I had the big breakfast, with avocado instead of mushrooms and tomatos, and my partner had the potato cake with eggs benedict and salmon. Both meals were amazing!
Service was great, no extra cost for my requests to change the menu, and I had a coffee (which wasn’t part of the voucher) and there was no extra cost for that either. Just a little thing, but it made the experience even more pleasant.
I will definitely be coming here again. Great service, great food, great coffee!!!

I’ve been here now at least 4 times for breakfast and it’s consistently good. The corn fritters with poached eggs are absolutely yummy! I hope to get around to having lunch here very soon. Get in early if you want a booth or book ahead.

I have been a long term visitor to the George since it opened and it has typically been able to meet or exceed my expectations.
It is always hard to settle in a rating when the venues server multiple purposes; as a bar they are too notch, as a restaurant the food is consistently good, and they run a number if interesting functions and events to spice things up.
They lose a star simply due to the fact I have had some poor customer service from the restaurant front of house staff, I have had some exceptional service too, however I have to weigh up if that will cause me an issue; I have been served the wrong bottle of wine before with just a sorry! I am sure I could have sent it back, but you feel oblige when it is open and poured before they tell you…
Luckily that is unusual and I have had many great experiences here; the high teas are great the chefs are consistently good and the prices are good by Perth standards

Sampled the new breakfast menu this morning in smaller sized versions of the tasty offerings.
The George’s menu always is wholesome and I want to try every dish on offer.
I really enjoyed all the mini sized breakfest offerings. There was grilled mushroom, bruschetta (which delightful reminded me of a burger but no where near as naughty), corn croquette, ricotta and cinnamon hot cakes and house made granola with little apricot pieces — delightful! They also have happy eggs! and plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options.
Update: I have been back to try the catering menu, which did not disappoint with the turkish bread and dips to tarts. The mulled wine is the best in Perth that we have tasted so far.

I had my work Christmas party here on Saturday night and I was quite surprised how good the venue it. They had hired out the back room which had its own outdoor area and an ally way on the side to go out and smoke in. The food they bought out was all really nice and the service was pretty good. I thought it was a really good place to hire out for a birthday as they have their own bar as well and dj area.

Had dinner and loved it. Service was great and the food excellent. It’s a shame (and it happens alot in my experience) when the staff start to pack up around you. It’s never a nice feeling. But 4 stars given that the food and the wine was top notch.

I’ve been to the George for after work drinks and high tea and both were great. Lovely atmosphere and great food. Cocktails r a bit pricey but delicious — i recommend the French martini!

A real crowd pleaser for the Terrace peeps on a Friday afternoon, the George is like a Martini: gutsy, sophisticated, but never quite hitting the mark. All your conventional tastes are catered for, from the beer selection to the décor, and while I like the stand-​around feel of the place, there’s something uncomfortable about it at the same time — especially as the night goes on and things get messier. I haven’t dined here yet, but I’ve heard good things, and apparently the sparkling high teas are a real treat. This is a decent, flashy bar — for many people, it plays its cards right. I guess I’m just not buying into the deal.
