Never disappoints. Soups are the specialty and I recommend the roast duck egg noodle soup and the prawn dumpling soup. The staff is incredibly friendly. We have just been for lunch today, with a one year old. Fantastic time — the staff accommodated the child and we all enjoyed our meal immensely. Paid $ 38 for three. The décor could use some improvement :)

The menu is extensive, with lots of meat and vegie options. I love the rice paper rolls, vietnamese salad or the Phở! I have a soft spot for the Roast Duck Phở, even if it does come with bones. It’s great for group outing for a quick, fast, delicious and inexpensive meal. Everyone always leaves satisfied — and you cannot argue when it’s also BYO as well! After coming from Marrickville in NSW(Vietnamese Central) this place really does stand up to be one of the better feeds you can find in Perth for Vietnamese.

I can’t remember the last time I went to a laid back, bustling, busy restaurant that served amazing food, that had a brilliant atmosphere. On Saturday night a group of five of us headed to Viet Hoa in Northbridge for some fabulous Vietnamese food, accompanied by BYO booze. A great way to spend a Saturday night. People were late, we were loud and we kept the booze flowing. None of that seemed to matter to the staff, who were pretty attentive seeing as the restaurant was completely full. We ordered a couple of entrees to share as we waited for the last member of our party and soaked up the hustle and bustle of the restaurant. A baby cried briefly, no one cared; a huge group of 21 years olds rolled in, taking up two tables. I admired the fact that they’d booked and the waitresses weren’t phased. We ordered five dishes for main for everyone to share, which was way too much food, but was lovely to be able to have a bit of everything. A vegetarian and a chicken chow mein, fried lemon chicken, Phở Ga(chicken noodle soup) and deep fried fish. The flavours were incredible, especially in the Phở Ga. There’s also a really good choice of vegetarian food. As someone only eats vegetarian food or fish, I’m starting to struggle a little to find nice options at new restaurants. Here, I had heaps of choice. The servings were also huge, we could have almost shared three dishes between the five of us. The freshness of the food surprised me, especially as so much of it was friend. The kitchen is obviously using really fresh produce. I like nothing more than a crunch of a vegetable in my meal. Not only do I feel healthy, but it also means they haven’t cooked all of the goodness out of the food. The food wasn’t rushed, there was no pressure to leave or give our table up, and the food all came out at the same time. In addition to all of that, the bill came to $ 20 per person. I’ve paid more for a less than average lunch. The food, the service, the atmosphere, and then the price made it just a perfect evening. After three very relaxing hours at the restaurant, the five of us left together smiling and moved on to a bar down the road, not wanting the night to yet be over.

Every now and again I get the dreaded Roast Duck Noodle Soup hunger and only one place can satisfy it — my main man Viet Hoa. It’s cheap, it’s BYO and it’s always packed. The trick here is to order from the specials menu — I’ve never seen these fail to satisfy. But really, you should order the aforementioned Roast Duck Noodle Soup — a big bowl of steaming soup and noodles with a generous side plate of the most perfectly cooked duck(carmelised and crispy on top, moist inside). Get it with their stuffed chicken wings for maximum happiness. At the end of it all, you’ll be one phat phuc(relax, it means happy buddha).

This place is an institution in Perth. If you ask someone about Viet Hoa they know it, everyone has been here. I personally have spent many hours eating the amazing meals these guys create. My favourite place in all of Perth no doubt. The food is AMAZING! It’s fast, BYO and it’s cheap. Like crazy cheap! What more do you want? My go to meal when I am here Fresh pork and prawn spring roll Stuff chicken wings Wonton noodle soup, dry Vietnamese Ice coffee on the side And if I am still able to walk after that I throw some deep fried ice cream on it just to make sure I have every inch of my stomach filled with the goodness that is Viet Hoa. Make sure you get in before 9pm though as the kitchen closes then. Do yourself and your taste buds a favour and get down here ASAP!

Having heard from several people that this is the best place for phở in Perth, my friend(who had travelled in Vietnam for three weeks) and I made our way to viet hoa. I had my first phở in a tiny street close to Chatswood Westfield in Sydney and boy was it delicious. The phở came in a large bowl with a ladle. The clear soup was filled with rice noodles, meat of my choice, and garnished with lots and lots of bean sprouts. There was the option of adding fresh chilli, soy sauce and spicy vinegary chilli sauce. The phở was also topped with a rice cracker. I fell in love with phở and it became my go to place every Saturday for lunch. Hence, here I was at viet hoa with high expectations. And hey we walked into a bustling noisy place full of both Asians and non Asians — so made us immediately think well if the Asians like it, it must be good. We were quickly seated and handed an expansive menu. Pages and pages of menu items starting off with so many phos but mostly beef ones, one chicken phở, and one seafood phở(why so many phos — I phở not sure understand this). Oh and the menu did not have pictures — so how could we possibly decide. My friend and I were perplexed at so many options and no images. We then asked the waitress for recommendations. She said their most popular phở was the roast duck phở at 14.50 for a bowl and their most popular chicken stir fry was the chicken with stir fry broccoli, mushroom and cashew nuts. Trusting the waitress rather than our guts(literally), we went with her suggestions. Within minutes, cutlery, plates and the food arrived at our tables. Portions were good as in most cheap Asian restaurants. But now the food. The chicken stir fry tasted like a Chinese stir fry dish. Bland and flavorless. But edible. At least the chicken was tender and delicious. The phở was salty but the flavour of the stock was not outstanding. It came with egg noodles too that you had to wound around and around and around your chopsticks before you could get them into your mouth. The roast duck was full of so many bones that it was impossible to eat it with the phở. We had to eat it with our hands. The roast duck was in plum sauce. So much like Peking roast duck. Again more Chinese than Vietnamese. We felt like we had been cheated. Definitely not authentic vietnamese. But our tummies were full and our bill was around 16.50 per person. So perhaps value for money is why you would go here. Not for the phở — phở sure!

A delicious bowl of rare beef phở was what i had at Viet Hoa last night. This restaurant has an extensive menu of both solo meals and share plates and is in inexpensive. Definitely worth a visit if you are after a quick and delicious vietnamese feed.

This is my most beloved restaurant in the whole entire world. I have been eating here for over 20 years and the food has always been perfect. The restaurant isn’t flash and there is always a queue but it moves fast and your food comes out quickly every time. I love the fresh pork and prawn spring rolls, the fried stuffed chicken wings, San Choy bow, BBQ pork wonton noodle soup dry. It’s ALL amazing and byo! If you need to pay for parking, get 1 hour as you will be in and out easily before your parking is up.

This is a great cheap Vietnamese restaurant in Northbride. It can sometimes be hard to get parking nearby, depending on the time and day you visit. But we have always managed to find somewhere and just walk in and get a table. This place always seems to be busy. They have a short menu on the table with several options around the $ 12, and we have tried the Laksa and the roast Duck with noodle soup, both of which were very nice and to be honest too much food, the soups are very big. They also have a very long menu of other food items and drinks to choose from. I really rate this place for a cheap Vietnamese meal, the Phở comes out with a side place of beansprouts and herbs just as it does in Vietnam. The stuffed chicken wings were also very good. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a hearty cheap Asian meal, you can also eat pretty healthy here too if that’s of concern.

From the moment you enter you are overwhelmed by the smell of the food, groups of people chatting away and waitresses running around after customers. Despite the small size, there is definitely room for everyone from groups to walkins. We had satay chicken, lamb with peanut and coconut sauce, ginger fish, duck and lotus root, special fried rice, chicken and brocolli and bulk steamed rice. For a group of 7, the waitresses bluntly said«no more food»! which is always a good sign. The service is a bit hit and miss and people are running around everywhere. Make sure you make your cutlery selection– fork or chopstick early on because goodluck trying to change half way through. I ended up waiting until the end of my meal for a refill of water after asking two waitresses which left me a bit parched. The restaurant isn’t huge so after a while the noise got to me, especially in a group setting as we had a huge round table to shout across — maybe this old lady should just do takeaway? Viet Hoa isn’t fantastic food, but it’s fast, cheap and brings a group together.

Came here for a work team lunch, I love Vietnamese and have been to quite a few restaurants in Perth. Viet Hoa is good they accommodated us well here although we had to ask a few times for a few things but overall they were pretty good. We ordered starters, mains and desserts all were delicious. The restaurant is also BYO which is great! I got my usual Bún bò Hu for main it was nice although I’ve had better but was still tasty. The price is pretty good here too, overall a pretty good Vietnamese restaurant I will come again :)

Cheap and fast service! That’s what this joint reminded me off. Food wasn’t to die for but it is pretty decent if you are up for some fresh phở and big portions. The staff spoke little English but hand gestures and pointing at pictures with thumbs up do help. I had the grilled pork with egg noodles. Wanting to try something different then the ordinary phở and was pleasantly surprise at how tasty the pork was. Slightly chargrilled with hint of sweetness, reminded me of some good ‘Char Siew’. All the ingredients were fresh and the broth was tasty. Just wasn’t sure if tastiness was due to good quality stock or good old MSG! Overall, I will still revisit this place for their quick and cheap meals, and to get my Vietnamese fix.

Have never experienced Vietnamese food before, I have wanted to go to this eatery on William for years. I paid $ 12.50 for a Prawn Dumpling soup, it was filled with flavour and on the table in record time. Staff were friendly and understanding of our somewhat ignorance, as they explained the traditional ingridients used in drinks that we ordered. I love the vibe, the price, the staff and how central it is. Will be going back again, could be my new Oriental haven! A definite 10!

I walk past here a lot and have been meaning to pop in for ages, but it’s always packed, and I hate queues. I finally ducked in because I was feeling really run down and tend to have noodle soup cravings when I get that way. It was a good choice! I got the seafood hofan soup. It came out fast, was very reasonably priced and had generous amounts of squid, prawns, fish cake, fish balls and fish for $ 12.50. I wasn’t crazy about the noodles(but then I’m very picky when it comes to noodles). The broth, however, was delicious. I’ll definitely come back again.

Viet Hoa … Vietnamese Food. During my Perth Trip, My dad just like to have dinner around this area. He would prefer asian food. So during my 1 week stay in Perth we had asian food almost every night. Sounds boring ya. While walking down the street, we came across this restaurant and we decided to have a change for the night. We order the Tradtional Phở and Bahn Mi, the serving in Australia is big. I had my meal so full. Can’t really recall the setup of the restaurant but it seems to be big. Worth a try …

Good ol’ Viet Hoa. You were my trusty, go-to Vietnamese restaurant for the longest time. From back in the late 90s/early 2000s when there were only a very small handful of places to get Phở in Perth. From way back when peeps were pronouncing it as «fo» instead of «fer». Even though there are a lot more Vietnamese places now that might serve better food, I have not found any others that sell Viet Hoa’s scrumptious Mi Kho(pork meat dry egg noodles) or Nem Nuong Cuon(grilled pork fresh spring rolls). And until I do, I will keep coming back here. Oh, and I better not forget to mention their jackfruit milkshake. Y-U-M!

Oh how I love Viet Hoa. The meals are so cheap. It’s always buzzing with people inside and the staff are so friendly. The food is what you pay for I guess, but are still really tasty. I think the milkshakes and drinks they do are one of the best parts!
