This place is always bustling downstairs, with a hefty queue for epic chicken. Upstairs is a different story, with a seated restaurant and plenty of options whether you’re after chicken, beef, pork or fish. Mate I went with had the cod with clams, whereas I had steak with thinly sliced potato chips. Both meals were good, the gravies awesome. Honestly surprised by how well the chips turned out, guessing they keep the oil fresh and of good quality. Service was excellent and the staff were well equipped with stories sure to delight. Will definitely go back again, especially to try the octopus which smelled out of this world!

Awesome chicken, have to try home made chips, tomato rice, chic pea salad, home made chocolate mousse. The sauce they make in house is fcking amazing. Fast friendly service, best Portuguese chicken iv had.

I went here as part of a bigger group of 6 – 7. We went upstairs where there is proper seating at a restaurant vs. the chicken shop on the ground floor. We ordered starters with chorizo then a whole bunch of charcoal chicken to share. The chorizo was good but quite ordinary. The charcoal chicken was good. I’ve now learned that there are different kinds of charcoal chicken… this one is a Portuguese one with a spicy peri-peri-ish sauce. I thought the chicken was good, but the sauce brought it to a whole ‘nother level. Service is fast.

Holy chicken! This burger was EPIC! Of course I opted for the double with cheese, mayo and extra chilli. And wowsers it was a meat feast. The chicken fillets were enormous, juicy and tender. The whole meal was so massive I couldn’t finish it or eat dinner. Safe to say I will return to battle the chicken behemoth again!!!

Great cheap food. Best Portuguese chicken and chicken burgers. The wait staff are friendly and remember you :) There is however a slightly grumpy woman behind the takeaway counter… but all part of the experience really. Love this place and been consistently awesome food for more than a decade.

Amazing chips! I recommend buying the chips of the bottom floor then leave and eat at the car park out the back, since it feels much hygienic. If you want more of a fine dining experience I suggest going to restaurants next to it. Upstairs there is a different menu, with a variety of foods, many originating from Portugal. The upstairs food has a genuine Portugal taste to it but a major disappointment was how the cube chips tasted and left me disgusted the entire night. At all costs avoid the cube chips and bring your own to eat. Other than that I have no complaints. Downstairs the atmosphere is repulsing with nice chips. On the other hand upstairs has generally has nice food and dining experience with cube chips I refuse to describe. Written by pepper.

the KING of CHICKEN ! Full of awesome flavours, that will awaken even the most dormant taste buds and turns into a volcano-like eruption of flavours and senses. This a family run restaurant, don’t expect silver service and a sommelier, a Super Bock beer is the perfect food pairing. It’s a friendly and relaxed set up, you come here for the food and experience… Once you’ve tried it, you sure will be back soon, but this time, with your partner and friends. Note: if its crowded, its because its good! (and remember, there’s always someone else with the same good taste for charcoal chicken as yourself, so be early)

Queue out the door. Que? Queue. Queues for days. They have this odd system that if you want a burger you can order that first, and then later they say do you want anything else? The burgers seem to be made upstairs or something. Anyway. Queue. We went on a Sunday at lunch time in search of chicken protein. Queued for 15 mins, then waited… wait for it… 26 mins for our order to be ready. Yes it is amazingly good chicken. I spied that they make something called an Ortugua burger which is breadless. I dont know if that meant the chicken wasnt crumbed or that it had no bun ala KFC sexism burger spec. you know. meat and meat and cheese that dainty ladies would never dream of eating. Regarless I had the portuguese chicken with chilli sauce. Bloody excellent. I’ve had the burger, and there’s a reason there are queues. Just don’t get in a huff about it, resistance is futile.

Slow service, rude-ish staff but all is forgiven as soon as you have that first bite of chicken. Always say yes for chilli sauce when they ask, it’s delicious. Chicken burger is good and the chips are generous. If you want to be cheap, buy your cold drinks from the supermarket a few doors up

One of the best charcoal chicken I can found in Sydney. Half a chicken with chips and chilli sauce is the best for lunch. The only down side, a little bit crowd during lunch time.

The Chicken Burgers here are Sydney’s greatest. Cheap, filling and overly tasty. Chilli and mayo. Yes please. Gets pretty busy here these days although the wait for some take away is well worth it. A Sydney favourite :)

I go a long way for good chicken. I travel the breadth of Sydney in a quest for good chicken. The best kind of chicken is obviously Portuguese chicken. Slathered in delicious peri peri and grilled to perfection, That’s what I’m looking for. Frangos hits that spot time and time again with their delicious flame grilled chicken and their monumental peri peri sauce. It’s a real blazer and it’s worth coming back time and time again for an ace chook feed. What a deal!

Hidden in the back of a charcoal chicken takeaway is frango, we sat upstairs where we had a lovely waiter, who although run off his feet was really attentive and such a polite gent. We ordered 1 ½ Portuguese chickens with Chilli sauce and it was so tasty, we also ordered pork with clams, seafood rice cod with potatoes and a side of sliced potato chips, we devoured the lot, complimentary bread on the table was a nice touch but beware, don’t get stuck into it as it will take up valuable space in your tummy leaving less room for all the delicious Portuguese food.

Only good thing is the chicken — but I guess that’s what counts here! Salads are limp and frozen chips aren’t worth it. But the chicken — my oh my! Chili sauce is really garlicky and packs a punch — 2 yummos! :)

Service is a bit slow, staff is a bit rude, but if you’re cranking out seemingly hundreds of delicious chickens a day for hundreds of hungry people I say you can do what you want. Watch the chicken get charcoaled, order the charcoaled chicken(quickly unless you want a scowl,) watch the chicken disappear into your belly. It’s just that simple. The chicken here is good… damn good, and so is the chilli sauce. I advise you don’t get the large chips; they’re not bad, they’re on the thin side but if you get a large order of chips bear in mind that the bag is probably as big as your head and you will not have any space for chicken… which is the main reason for coming here. A small order of chips will do fine.

I don’t care how rude the staff are. I don’t care how boring the salads are. You come here for 1 thing. CHICKEN! And good lord they do it well. Binge on a whole bird, or ration yourself with a chicken burger. These two items are all you need to try to become a complete addict.
