It’s a little bit out of the way, but worth the trip. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings. Everything was really lovely, especially the duck breast.

Made our way here for dinner recently. In short, it was a stellar experience of local flavours and winter inspiration. Courses were very generous, and excellent service combined with complementary bread with house churned butter, an amuse bouche and a palette cleanser after dinner really elevated this restaurant to a high level. Will be back. Soon I hope!

Only 4 from everyone else implies local people who expect higher demand than say a sydney sider. Exceptional service. Impeccable attention to detail. Special mention to to wait staff James. Drive out to a weird garden retail area of camberra and be surprised. It’s a plant farm work amazing food service.

Great little hideaway. Would have gotten 5 stars except one dish — the special that day — was weak. Everything else was awesome.

Pod Food looked pretty unassuming, located in the back of a nursery in the outskirts of Canberra. The food is great though, lots of modern australian type dishes with lots of textures and flavours(sometimes too many!) It’s kind of cramped in the hut, so I’d recommend sitting outside if it’s not horrifically bad weather, you get the benefit of the nursery garden and the extra space. The service wasn’t the best, a bit slow and for some reason we didn’t get butter with our rolls without asking for it. In their defence it was a busy day there. To the food! All of my dishes contained white powders. Happily none were illicit, but all were quite different flavours, with a chilli one, an olive one, and a sweet one with the dessert. The dishes are fine dining style, smaller portions beautifully placed on their plates. The one thing I didn’t like was that there was often too much going on. The dessert had around 6 elements, all with quite different flavours and textures(and even temperatures), and it didn’t mesh well at all. I recommend trying the more simple dishes, as each of the elements are done well.

I went here on a lovely spring saturday to catch up with some friends I hadnt seen in ages. The location is just lovely, tho’ parking was super hard and I ended up parking on the street, which was surprisingly busy and it took some time before I could cross the road. Our waitress was super attentive, making sure water glasses were filled and noticing when the sun was hitting our faces full on, she opened up another umbrella. It was great to catch up with my friends and the weekend breakfast menu was a good price and with good options. The only bummer was that they didnt allow substitutions, which was an issue for one friend. I got the Poached free range egg, asparagus, mushrooms, avocado, sourdough for $ 13.50, and it was a lovely plate. I did wish my sourdough bread was a little bit thicker, but otherwise everything tasted farm-fresh. The majority of my friends ordered the Spelt and almond muesli, nutmeg poached pears, Greek style yoghurt for $ 13, and I guess it was pretty good too, as I heard sounds of bowls being scrapped towards end of the meal. I cant wait to go here again :)

Aussome cozy hideaway tucked amongst roses and other pretty flowers. The food is as elegant as it looks. Enjoyed the pork cheeks, lamb and chicken here, The terrine and desserts are fine too.
