Very small little shop with friendly staff. While it has what passes as a dining area, it’s pretty much a take away only kinda spot. I had the butter chicken, admittedly a bit on the spicier side, but easily the best butter chicken I’ve had in Adelaide.

Recommended for take-away. One of the best Indian food places in the area, with a pretty good selection. We regularly have take-aways from here, but I would not bother eating in as the café is fairly basic. The food is excellent, quality and service is consistently high and the prices are great. Have tried about 50% of the items on the menu, and have no hesitation in recommending almost anything so far. The fish curry is particularly good, and for vegetarian the aloo palak is really nice(although I would also like to see palak paneer on the menu). On the side, the pakoras and raita are recommended. Will keep going back for more.

There’s no way in hell that I’d dine in here during the summer, unless the place was basically empty and they’d bought another three dozen air conditioners. But with that said, I do like this place for a take away curry. As I am not particularly adventurous when it comes to trying new restaurants, I went for a relatively safe option and had the butter chicken. My take on it is that it’s not a badly put together curry. The meat was fairly tender, it had that nice and creamy texture and it wasn’t terribly expensive. No reason why I wouldn’t come back here again.

This curry house offers a range of Indian fare which is quite pleasant. TAKEAWAY Sidhar’s Curry Indian Café is a popular venue for takeaway meals, and charges $ 1 extra for people to dine in the restaurant, which can be a bit stuffy on hot days, with not much air circulating, although it does seem to have some kind of device for air. MEALS The yoghurt curry with vegetable dumplings arrived nice and hot, but the spice was mild and it was a surprisingly refreshing curry. The dumplings are quite nice and contain chickpeas and fresh herbs, potato and onions. They are dry, so they sit well in the thick soup-like curry, which contains onion and is lightly spiced with spices such as cumin in sauce. The whole mustard seeds in the curry taste great. My bloke’s lamb korma was nice and tender and cooked in a mild and creamy curry sauce, with yoghurt and potato. DIETARYREQUIREMENTS Meat lovers will be pleased to learn there’s a good range of meat dishes on the menu. There are fewer dishes for pescatarians and vegetarians, but there’s still enough of a choice. SIDEDISHES The pappadams are OK but small and a little dry, although they are served in portions of four, which is ample for two. The garlic garlic roti bread is nice. SERVICE The service is very prompt and the waiting staff are really nice. WINELIST The wine list is limited to one bottle of red and one bottle of blended dry white, so I opted for a stubbie of Boag’s premium beer. ATMOSPHERE It was a quiet weekday night when I dined at the café and I could hear the radio in the kitchen belting out classic pop hits. DECOR The décor in the café is simple, with solid wooden tables and pictures reminiscent of India decorating the walls, including an interesting painting of elephants.

I’ve only had takeaway here, and only the once. Seeing reviews for it on here sparked my memory. The meal was actually really good. There is no real good reason as to why I’ve only eaten here the once, as both the food and service were great. I had a butter chicken with garlic naan. My only gripe was the chicken meat was a bit brown, which is fine, but I’m really particular about white meat when it comes to chicken(yes I know the thighs have lots more flavour!). Service was great, the food came out fast, and there were no issues.
