Excellent pizza. Cute shop, excellent service and the pizza lives up the the billing. If you’re staying near Darling Harbour this is a can’t miss.

Did you realise there was another Star in Pyrmont? Yes, you can wander up past the shiny new casino and find an altogether more rustic and relaxing pizza place on Harris Street. It may be just a couple of doors up from Crust, but these guys sure give them a run for their money. For starters the modest outfit has a cute clutch of outdoor tables. You can sit on a hodge podge of faux Frenchy iron chairs or cushioned stools fashioned from hessian sacks. The pizzas come out deliciously thin crusted and piping hot. Their toppings take inspiration from astrological signs(hence the name), but we opted for the Stars Special(pancetta, sun dried tomatoes, artichokes, tomatoes, goats cheese and pesto — family size $ 24) and the Meat Lovers(pepperoni, chorizo, ham, cabanossi, bbq sauce — family size $ 22). They went down all too well with the red wine we’d brought from the bottleshop down the street. Yes, a balmy evening, quaint alfresco dining and mouthwatering pizzas… oh I’m definitely a fan.

This pizza is amazing. Stars On The Run is a tiny take away pizza shop that resembles more of a little café than a take-away joint. It’s quaint, and what’s even quainter(quainter?!) is the size of the kitchen that pumps out their delicious pizzas — a tiny three metre squared, it houses the pizza oven and prep bench and doubles as the service area. The tiny take away shop would even be a nice place to stay and enjoy your pizza, as long as no one else has had the same idea. There’s only really one place inside to sit and a couple of stools outside, but like I said, it’s a cute spot and it’s worthwhile entertainment seeing how seamlessly this place runs. Stars On The Run is always busy and yet quality never drops. The pizzas are delicious without fail and the smile from the pizza chef is worth coming back for too.

I had been out in Pyrmont just hanging out with some friends when we realized that none of us had eaten a proper dinner. It was already 10PM and most restaurant kitchens were closed. Luckily, we passed by this amazing pizza shop. There’s another branch in Balmain which is more of a sit-down restaurant. This one in Pyrmont recently opened primarily for the purpose of takeout and delivery. On the menu, the ‘traditional’ pizza combinations are named after astrological signs, which is a cute concept, I guess. There’s also a ‘gourmet’ pizza list that includes more complicated combinations of toppings. I ordered a medium pizza, half ‘Virgo’(cheese, pepperoni, capsicum, onion, and garlic) and half Stars Special(pancetta, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke, tomatoes, goat cheese and pesto). Boy, oh boy. That thin crust smothered by those toppings was absolute heaven, and it was just $ 17! Thank God this place is near my house because I’m coming here all the time. Definitely one of the best pizzerias in town.
