Royal Copenhagen Semaphore

Who doesn’t love free stuff?! Everyone loves free stuff! Here you can get free toppings such as chocolate or caramels sauce, nuts or sprinkles at their self-​service toppings bar in the corner of the store. That’s pretty neat!
I had ice cream from Copenhagen before and I always have liked it but on my most recent experience it could have been better. The waffle cone that held a scoop of one of their chocolate icecreams tasted quite hard and stale not as fresh as it usually is. I think it may have be due to the lateness of the night and the waffle cones may have just been sitting around in the open air for too long.
The ice cream and the free toppings itself were fine, nothing out of this world but pretty good as an after dinner sugar kick. However, the stale waffle cone was a real let down and brought the whole team down.
I’m not entirely put off to going to this branch of Royal Copenhagen again but I think I would go try to stick to only going during the day instead.

Covered in sand and puppy slobber, we stagger from the beach in search of coffee. The Guy always takes his the same way: Large 4 shot skim milk latte with 2 sweeteners extra hot. Happily, their standard large comes with 4 shots so I don’t have to explain too much to the lass taking our order and risk sounding like something out of «LA Story». Sadly, on a 37 C degree day, my order isn’t as straightforward. I love cold drinks on a hot day but without all the ice cream and whipped cream that make up the great Aussie iced coffee. Basically I like what The Guy likes but on ice (minus the ‘extra hot’ bit obviously). Here’s the great part… They got it! It was perfect. The coffee was good. The price was good. The server was friendly, helpful and not easily fazed. It’s dog friendly and close to the beach. Awesome.

These outlets are always popular no matter which store you visit, there are often lines extending outside of the stores to get in and place your order.
The ice cream and sorbets are always really nice and tasty, with the option of a cone, small tubs or their waffle basket that has been dipped in chocolate as the container for your ice creams you won’t be disappointed with the options available.
The store is as clean as can be expected for a ice cream place, there are extras that you need to put on your ice cream yourself such as chocolate fudge and nuts. These are great extras but often try get spilled on the floor making it a little sticky.
Also on offer are freshly made waffles and doughnuts as well as the standard cool drinks and smoothies.
These stores are always a welcome sight on a hot day or a warm night to relax with friends and family.
