Red Ass is a great addition to the offerings of Semaphore road, offering an authentic and well delivered menu this is definitely a spot you need to stop and check out. The space is a good offering for families who are looking to dine out without blowing the budget.

The vegies and the noodles were undercooked and the toilet was pretty bad for a restaurant standard. Little pricey for the quality of the meal although the portions are quite large. The green Thai curry was very watery and had no spice at all. Disappointing but the staff were lovely and had great customer service.

Every curry we had tasted diluted. My 11 year old could eat the 6 chilli rated vindaloo sauce by the spoon full. Cooked for the Aussie palate. 2 stars for the friendly and prompt service.

Took my son here on a busy Saturday night. Food was good and staff friendly, only issue was near 30min wait(for pad Thai and chips!). Large amount of takeaway orders impacts eat-in customers it seems. Good value for money though and varied menu.

Come for the name, stay for the meal. With a separate kids play room, it’s kids friendly. We have been many times over the last few years and fresh veggies are complemented by tasty sauces. Welcoming staff keep us coming back.

Thai and Indian options — awesome! Red Thai Curry was great, kids meal and playroom went down treat.

The name is awesome. Just awesome. I do have a bit of a problem with places that offer food from two different cultures. Being Thai/Indian is a bit like having an Italian/French restaurant in my mind, and my expectation is that if they’re lucky, they’ll do one of those themes well, and the other will be a bit of an afterthought. To The Red Ass’s credit, this isn’t the case, and both the Indian and the Thai dishes I’ve had have been pretty good. My favourite is still the red beef curry, but the butter chicken is pretty okay too. I’d be more than happy to eat there again.

Try and suppress laughter about the name when dining. It was a risky choice naming it that way, it works for being memorable. They’ve got a great reputation for top quality Thai/Indian. From my experience this honour is in tact. The service was polite and make you feel relaxed. I strongly recommend anything seafood or a laksa. The fish curry had powerful spices and was red hot even for being only a three chilli rating. Stay away from that Devil Vindaloo. Due to the fusion of cultures there are so many choices for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. So it’s a great choice for a wonderful dine out.

Firstly, any curry place that calls itself ‘Red Ass’ is already a winner in my book before I walk through the door! A mate of mine used to live just up the road from The Red Ass Curry and Noodle Café, so needless to say I have stood at the counter a number of time over the past few years, and I have thus far survived without disappointment or singe marks around my ‘O’ ring! As the title suggests, they specialise in Curry and Noodle dishes which are mainly Thai/SouthEast Asian based. Although you can ask for extra heat, I still don’t find the dishes too hot… but then my mouth could handle molten lava! My personal fav’s are the Tom Yum soup, Red Curry and there is a funky Meatball dish that goes down a treat! Also, if you eat in they have a couple of good imported beers to work through to calm the burn, so don’t be too scared!
