The frontline staff were all fantastic, but no amount of good staff can make up for poor management approach and a business that clearly doesn’t care about its customers. Jordy(sic), who was supposed to be the authority figure couldn’t care less the fact there are no eftpos facilities(in 2016!), the ATM was busted and it was torrential rain outside. Cash is still clearly king, and the door staff who for whatever reason decided to accuse me of being a drug dealer when I pointed this fact out to them, were no help while Jordy stood by being useless. Couldn’t speak more highly of the bartenders, security and pretty much everyone that was doing their best to keep a terrible business alive.

An impressive building on the Sorrento skyline, the conti is a mainstay in Sorrento and tends to be a place that most tourists to the area visit. As I’m not a tourist I had to go to lunch there for a friends post wedding celebration lunch, which was fine. But… The prices for the quality — oh no no no. Very disappointing. Add a public holiday and they will slap more on top — which drives me insane. Staff wise very nice but flustered, drinks selection was a ok, menu was a bit meh and I was so disappointed with my prawn dish, which I raised with the staff to zero care. Other people in our party had a rather underwhelming experience too, food wise(dry parmas) Not to say that I wouldn’t go back if my friends had a function there, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

Good, not great. The servers were kind of the highlight… that and the beer. But, if it’s a nice night, sit outside and watch the boats in the bay through a sliver of a view. Nicer pub food, but no Hotel Sorrento. Maybe Bette for lunch than dinner. It was pricey.

Service was a bit slow, though to be fair there was a hen’s night there as well, so I’m sure they were distracting the waitstaff a bit. Food was good, but average pub fare. Nice artwork on the walls available for purchase.

The Continental Hotel on the hill in Sorrento Main Street is a significant building in the Mornington Peninsula landscape and to this day, is the only four storey limestone structure in the Southern Hemisphere. «The Conti» as it’s warmly known as to locals, was built in 1875 and remains to be a favourite restaurant and nightclub for locals and visitors alike. The Conti nightclub is filled with rowdy youth every Friday and Saturday nights — mainly locals, but also attracts a hefty crowd of visiting footy clubs, holiday makers and bridal parties. With $ 15 entry(for those that don’t have a connection to the area) the Conti provides a great place to dance the night away with its multi-level rooms and not to mention, the famous«Conti Dogs»(hot dogs) that are served throughout the night for a couple of bucks. By day, the Conti regains its decorum by acting as a traditional pub restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with chalkboard specials and weekly menu changes. A beautiful spot to visit while in the area!
