Had the veal and chips — typical modern Australian cuisine — nothing too unique or special. The chips were a bit too salty for my liking. A bit overpriced but you would expect it for such an array The treat was the view and beautiful weather ! They could think of more creative ways to enhance the menu ?!

I’m pretty sure I’ve reviewed white salt before but I love this place so much I have to again! Last weekend when it was hot hot hot my friend and I had just had a nice dip in the sorrento ocean and decided to get something light to eat and drink. We headed straight across the road go white salt. The service is friendly and spectacular and they make you feel really special even though you are in things and bathers we had truffle fries with Parmesan and affogato and it went down quick. All was delish and came out quick! Highly recommend this place for a drink, dinner or light snack 10⁄10!

Great location and staff. Been a few times now and the only downside is the lack of food mid afternoon.

Amazing experience, incredible food, friendly staff and beautiful location. I booked this through Dummi app and received confirmation from both the restaurant and app. The food was delicious and courses were timed perfectly with a good time wait between starters and mains. I had noted on the booking it was my husbands birthday and we were presented with a complimentary muffin, ice cream and candle — a lovely gesture. So glad this restaurant is now super close to my house as we will be returning again soon.

In town on business from USA. Was jet-lagged and looking for something light and quick. Had the Chili Mussels which paired well with a local Sauvignon Blanc. Delicious! Plus the view of the setting sun over the ocean was spectacular! Will come back next time I’m in town!

White Salt is a great choice for dinner after work during the warmer months, as the timing is usually perfect to catch the sunset before tucking into a meal. It’s relatively quiet on weeknights, but it doesn’t feel like the sort of quiet where you have to question how good the place is. The pricing of dishes sometimes seems a little high, but I do keep my eye out for when the menu changes — the current menu looks very reasonably priced with more than a few new options that I hope to head up for soon as we leave winter behind and can enjoy the outdoor seating.

Don’t want ruin the 3 star rating so far but we really enjoyed our meals here. The service was great. Staff was friendly and professional. Even did the wine taste test before pouring our wines. Our meals tasted awesome. Probably a bit expensive for what we got but we had a window view of the sunset. Modern style restaurant. Not a quiet romantic place, more for groups and friend because things can get loud. Still did not ruin our experience.

Went for Business Lunch on a Friday with two others, they were hosting a Local Chamber of Commerce lunch so was reasonably busy. Pros Nice Location Sea Views from most tables Out door tables for those not averse to Skin Cancer Fixed price Lunch $ 36 for two(2) Courses Food Quality overall — great Reasonable Selection of Bottled Beers and Wines by the Glass/Bottle — although… only one Tap Beer(Heineken) so not sure they can really call themselves a real«bar» Cons Parking was a challenge — but probably because of the Chamber of Commerce Luncheon on that Friday — I imagine evenings and other lunchtimes would be less busy? Wait staff — whilst pleasant and reasonably efficient seemed rushed(the male waiter in particular on this day) Seemed to have plenty of staff on… but took a while for them to notice I was standing at the«wait to be seated» sign and then when I did get shown to our reserved table I had to get up and go to the bar to order a drink because no one was coming near me Had to go to the bar again after table was cleared as just couldn’t get anyone’s attention Fixed Price Lunch for 3 @ $ 36 each + drinks — Good Value for Money Meal/s I had the Local scallops with Pork belly to start and Rib Eye for main. Guests had Crostini & Pork Fillet Arancini Balls & Rib Eye Main comment from guests was. «wish I’d ordered the steak too» and«Decent size and quality for a Fixed price Menu» My scallops(2) and Pork belly(2x 1 cm cubes) were excellent, Rib eye was good about 1.5 –2cm thick — came with a decent swirl of mash, a nice red wine jus(I think) and the chef hid a solitary wilted leaf of spinach under the meat to ensure I had some greens …(NB: no additional greens were offered by the waitstaff and cant recall if there was that option?) All up a reasonable business lunch and I would probably go there again as an alternative to Hippo Creek and some of the more expensive options in Hilarys Boat Harbour or Trigg Island Café

The set lunch menu had some good options. I had scallops with pork belly(which was a bit tough, but tasty). A friend noticed another customer having the same entrée as her, but theirs came with cheese… My other friend had to send her lukewarm soup back. Mains were generous serves. My rabbit pie was good, but had a bone as a bonus.

I adore the location of White Salt, but it is a pity I don’t adore the food quite as much. I came for breakfast one time with a friend of mine, we both wanted fresh juice but apparently they had run out so we had bottled instead. Our breakfasts were nice, but nothing special, it’s not really that difficult to toast some bread and fry a few eggs. Afterwards I ordered a vanilla milkshake to take with us, I had a sip as I was about to walk out the door and stopped at the entrance after tasting warm milk, what a dud. I brought a takeaway espresso as well to add to it and try turn it into a ice coffee, but I think at the rate of the temperature it was more a flat white in a plastic cup with a straw. The couches are nice and the restaurant itself always looks packed so perhaps I was just unlucky but it hasn’t tempted me to go back since.

White Salt has one of the most generous happy hour policies I’ve come across, knocking fifty per cent off all beer and wine – including bottles of the latter – between five and six o’clock every afternoon throughout summer. Which perhaps explains why people descend upon the place each in droves for that hour, soaking up the sun as it sets over the Indian Ocean, and drinking twice as much as they otherwise might. It perhaps also explains why this review has more to do with the bar side of things that with the restaurant side. The bar doesn’t have one of the most expansive by-the-glass lists in the world – there’s only one chardonnay on it, for example, and no riesling – but when you can buy a full bottle at half price and all but eliminate the customary mark-up it doesn’t particularly matter. There’s a good line-up of local and imported beers, including Heineken by the pint. As hinted at above, I haven’t explored the menu too thoroughly, usually opting to nibble instead of dine. But I have been impressed with the little I have had. The antipasto platter is especially good for the sundowner’s purpose. Chorizo, artichoke hearts, olives and perfectly grilled prawn skewers with garlic butter are accompanied by pieces of thick, doughy bread. That bread goes brilliantly, too, with the big bowl of dukkah that is a welcome change from the ubiquitous trio of dips that one finds almost everywhere else. But it’s the view that really shines here – or at least the sun does, on the water. Between that and the sea breeze you might not want to spend your weekday happy hour anywhere else.
