Every once in a while,(for those of us who like it), we have cravings for the heavenly treat known as chocolate. Max Brenner’s Chocolate Bar is probably literally made of chocolate. As soon as you walk in, you smell, see and even hear chocolate, if that makes sense. Why not taste it too? There are a huge variety of options available on their menu, ranging from traditional chocolate delicacies to complex amalgamations covered in chocolate. You as a customer have the option to customize your treat to any extent. It is affordable and even though you gain a little weight, you have to enjoy yourself every once in a while, right? Tempting as it may be, it’s not like you’re going to eat there every day! For those of you looking to eat it another day or bring it home to your loved ones, they have a seperate section of the bar for buying some chocolate. So go on and check it out.

I love going here. The staff are friendly and the chocolate. The chocolate!!! There’s something about max Brenner’s chocolate that really does it for me. Whenever I go to brisbane I come here, if we had max Brenner’s in adelaide I’d be really fat lol!

I swear it’s possible to gain weight just walking past this place but it is so worth it. My favorite is the fondue for two, if you ask you can get all dark chocolate, that makes it healthy right? Plus there is fruit so you can pretend you aren’t one step away from going mouth first into the chocolate pot. Do get a bottle of water as sometimes you just need it to cut the chocolate especially if you have a chocolate heavy plate and cup. Bottles are free at the counter if you are dining in. There is always a line, there is a good reason for that. Everything on the menu will blow the mind of a chocoholic and leave you in a puddle of bliss.

I thought that a place that served chocolate would be able to cater for people that cant have dairy, so when i sore that they served soy milk, i was over the moon. Only to be disappointed when i got to the counter to learn that the chocolate had been pre mixed with full cream milk :-(all i wanted was a hot chocolate on soy milk. This may not make sense to some people cause yes chocolate has dairy in it, but when you know how much your body can tolerate before you start becoming ill, its very upsetting. I ended up eating my friends banana’s. Dont think ill be back untill they can cater to people with dairy intolerance.

Max Brenner, everyone loves it. It’s hard not to love a restaurant that is fully focused on chocolate. Fondues, waffles, mini chocolates, anything that can be made with chocolate will. The only bummer is that it is a chain, therefore each store is different than the last. Max Brenner has competition with San Churro, which also is a great restaurant focused on fine chocolate desserts. Pricing for both is about the same and menu items overlap. Max Brenner always seems to have a line no matter what time of day. This particular shops location is perfect for enjoying a lovely day or evening in southbank. The outdoor seating as well as indoor is great for people watching. The food is great, the hardest part is choosing what to get. Portions are large for Australians because I always see plates left half full, although we Americans can clean them off. It’s a great place to bring the kids or meet up with the girls or even come solo just to enjoy dessert or coffee any time of the day. I was recommended to check out Max Brenner when I was in Sydney and definitely still come to it in Brisbane. It’s something I have enjoyed from day one.

This is definately somewhere must go in Brisbane! Even though today is week day afternoon, we still needed to queue up for 8 people. We have 4 girls in total and we ordered tutti frutti and banana pizza(without crunch). They are served quite fast. Both of the desserts are great. They are so yummy that i nearly wanted to lick the plates. It is perfect to share to desserts with four people and I was very full after that. Also, it will be less pricey. In the shop, you can see the chocolate is making in a big container and the environment is comfortable. I will definately go back again and recommend it to other friends.

I have been here twice and unless it’s quite late on a weekday you will have to wait in line. The line was out the door which was a bit ridiculous but there was a lot of seating, indoors and outdoors. They offer free water and while it was a busy, loud atmosphere, you could have a private conversation. We ordered the crunchy chocolate pizza which was quite large; good for a small group. It was very sweet though! Also tried the white chocolate cheesecake; it came with melted chocolate and strawberries and was very rich and tasty. Some items are overpriced but it does taste like quality chocolate.

If you want to get chocolate wasted then come to Max Brenner! I’ve heard so many good things about Max Brenner and I finally had the opportunity to come here last night. My friend and I came here at around 8pm. There was such a long line! We waited for a good amount of time(maybe 20 – 40 minutes). They have a little gift shop there, so it was cool looking at the products while waiting in line. We got the Chocolate Fondue for Two and I also got a hot milk chocolate. The chocolate fondue was so visually appealing! It came with dark chocolate, milk chocolate, strawberries, bananas, banana bread, and marshmallows. I was really excited to try it out! The chocolate was so thick, so creamy, so rich. It was very sweet. After a couple of pieces, I was so done with chocolate. It was just way too much chocolate for me. I wasn’t expecting the chocolate to be so thick and rich. My mouth was numb from the sweetness. The hot milk chocolate just tasted like warm milk; there wasn’t much chocolate taste to it. Which was kind of disappointing. Even though I was sick of chocolate, I still wanted to taste the chocolate flavor of the hot chocolate. I wouldn’t mind coming back here again to try something else. The ice cream and the milkshakes looked really good!

Max Brenner is worth the 50 meter line up with squabbling customers waiting for chocolate. After a fun night out with friends, dessert came to all our minds. «San Churro» one shouted, «Cowch» said another. «Max B» cried Sara and mutually the nods agreed that old favourite Maxy B boy was the winner. With a new menu up and running a few cool new additions have been made, however these Max lovers couldn’t steer from the love of «fondue for 2» or the classic white choc chai. Traditionally Max’s doesn’t turn my chocolate radar on, but southbank staff and experience never disappoints! Very central on the Southbank walk, coming from either the Mater hospital side or the Ferris wheel side will lead you right to this chocolate shop. Surrounding are a few cool little cafés and things to do, but I vote Max. Always Max.

Many people would consider my love of chocolate an addiction. I mean, I like chocolate, I like eating it, I like baking with it. Is there really anything so wrong with that? It was very nice to visit a place where people understand me. They share the same values as me. That’s right, I’m talking about Max Brenner. Chocolate by the bald man. After an extremely dedicated long trip involving 2 wrong busses, a taxi and an extensive walk, my friend and I finally arrived late at night only to have to wait in line for another 30 minutes to simply place an order! I can honestly say I’m slightly pleased to have had this time to be able to choose from the menu though. .. It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make in my life. I eventually decided on the tutti frutti waffle: Belgian waffle with melted chocolate, icecream, strawberries and banana. So, I shall leave you with this. It was worth the wait.

I wish I could handle my sugar like I used to be able to. Max Brenner is not the place to come for a healthy lunch, let’s be straight here, you come here for indulgence and it is not the place for anyone who feels any kind of food-related guilt. EVERYTHING has chocolate involved somehow. I had the feeling that no matter what I ordered I was going to feel slightly sick afterwards, so I tried to keep it simple. Banana bread with a side of fresh strawberries, and a pot of melted chocolate on the side. The banana bread was warm and thickly sliced, the strawberries were ripe and sweet, and the melted milk chocolate was delicious. My dining partner had a dark chocolate soufflé and while it looked amazing, she couldn’t quite finish it because it was so rich. There is a range of different hot and cold drinks, and these might be a better option if you just want a little taste of something sweet without going all the way down the rabbit-hole of chocolate decadence. A small shop inside the café means that you can buy some little treats to take away as well as kitchenware items to create your own chocolate heaven experience at home. There aren’t many gluten-free items available, but check with the staff before ordering and they’ll be able to let you know what the options are. There is seating inside and outside, so you can do some quality people watching in the main drag of South Bank while you fight off a sugar-induced coma.

Two words to describe this place… GUILTYPLEASURE! Or just word repeated, Chocolate! Chocolate! CHOCOLATE! This is simply the best place for dessert! If you want dessert for a good size and price, then this is it! I would definitely recommend the vanilla chai tea! It’s unique and definitely body warming on a cold winter night! Situated on southbank. Be warned that there will always be a long line out the door of customers, however the wait is definitely worth it! Check out their menu and decide while your in line. The staff there are very affectionate and always smiling. My experience there was pleasant for me and my tummy :) the waffles are always the best! The danish toffee chocolate was rich with the hint of toffee on the tip of the tongue! The sundae is huge! So if you can eat it all, go for it, if not sharing it with a friend or a lover is a good idea too :) Ps, they have a inner chocolate store that you can purchase small boxes of chocolate or fill it yourself customized chocolates boxes :) great gift ideas for chocolate loving friends or family :)

Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate, can I just say I love it??? I finally had a chance to try out this famous place where everyone I knew always raved about it how amazing and delicious this place is. I’m a huge fan of chocolate shops like this, so only naturally did I have to give it a go. Even before stepping inside the store, the smell of chocolate fills up the entire Southbank plaza, you can smell it almost a 1 km away. The décor is done very nicely where it reminds me of an upscale pastry shop. There is literally chocolate in every corner of this dessert shop — they even have a barrel of dark chocolate being mixed(not sure if it’s for display or for actual use). I have seen long queues for this place especially at night, as it’s a great place for a post-dinner dessert or just a romantic getaway. I ordered their signature tutti frutti waffles with 2 waffles that came with ice cream, strawberries, and bananna as well as a iced dark chocolate mocha frap. I have to say both were delicious, and I wasn’t disappointed at all. The one critique that stops me from giving a 5 is that this place is definitely overrated. My mates have told me that before, but I just wanted to try it out. The prices for each of the items is like a dinner in itself where my 2 items costed me $ 25. I have never spent that on a dessert option alone, so I was shocked — however in that given day, I wanted to splurge.

Now I’ve only been there once, and I’ve so far only had one item on their menu, and it was great. Now, it’s not too hard to have a delicious ice cream sundae whether it’s at home, or when going out, however, I enjoyed the ice cream sundae, with a side of melted chocolate and fresh strawberries. Yum. Yes it is over-priced, but then again so are most places. It’s a spot I’d go to on a date night with my husband, or going out with the girls. It’s a great place to sit back, indulge on chocolate and hang out. I’m a fan because of the«experience» Max Brenner offers, so I’ll be going there again.

Don’t get me wrong. I love chocolate. My god, do I love chocolate. And I see the appeal of a place that serves only chocolate. But Max Brenner is nothing special. They charge extra for a hot chocolate with marshmallows, you know, the marshmallows every other café in existence tosses in for free. I am a fan of their choc banana drink, but i’m not entirely sure it’s worth the queue. Actually I’d say that about most everything. It’s not bad, but not worth the queue, or the price once you finally get there. I’d never choose to go to Max Brenner, but I will tag along with friends. And if you’re real lucky, you’ll get to walk through the protesters who are periodically outside protesting against the company’s links with Israeli genocide of Palestinians.

Acquaint yourself with Max Brenner. Order anything with a lava of chocolate(with this menu, it won’t be that hard). Coffees and Hot Chocolates galore. Box of truffles aplenty. Waffles and cookies, chocolate creamery, and anything/everything you can imagine melts with chocolate. Leave with a Brownie Face on, nobody will notice because they’ll already Wonka’d themselves to death. For you, read me here, if there’s one must-do chocolate shop in the world, it’s this one(bald man Max is from Israel, and he’s a gluttonous-genius. Rumor has it his nickname was once«Sexy Beast.»). Found in sporty plaza section of Brisbane, outdoor seating available. Good times, the whole plaza over.

All I can say about Max Brenner is… I don’t get the hype. I had the pizza there once and it was pretty crappy — a savoury pizza base from woolies with some chocolate sloshed over it, sprinked with a few crispy bits and marshmallows. I could do it at home better. I can get some chocolate, melt it up and slosh it over anything I like, then top with little marshmallows and voila! Max Brenner without the long line.

Now, I rarely go to Max Brenner. No. Actually, I never go to Max Brenner. Infact, I have not been to a Max Brenner here in Melbourne since I started Unilocaling about six months ago! Anyway, my mate literally begged me to do it and well, being an awesome friend and all, I tagged along. For those of you wondering why he so badly wanted to head there, well… Brisbane only has 1 Max Brenner which was opened in 2010 and so it is still a big thing over there. Now, this should have been my queue to re-think this through but, unfortunately, I did not. and that was a very BIG mistake! The store was packed and we ended up waiting for about 25 mins before we could place our order. I am actually very proud of myself for having managed to wait that long! Luckily though, the store has plenty of seating space both inside and outside which helps to accommodate the huge number of customers it receives. We also did not have to wait too long for white mocha to arrive which was good. The thing I like about the shop is that it is in South Bank which means you have to leave the city and cross the bridge to get there and, as such, it is a good opportunity to take a walk around South Bank which is nice especially on a beautiful and warm sunny day.

Welcome to «ze land of chocolate»; a place akin to the idiotic imaginings of Homer Simpson in the episode where Germans take over the nuclear power plant. You’ve got to have an affinity for chocolate, or be hanging out with someone who does, to endure the 20+ min wait in their line to try one of ‘the bald man’s’ creations. I’m not actually a huge follower of the cocoa bean, but am rather fond of its associate the coffee bean, so when I go I usually have one of their signature cappuccinos(a happy compromise) which comes with a dollop of chocolate syrup that makes the usual powder seem a little plebeian. I also treated myself to a small chocolate cupcake which was quite delicious and probably just enough for my rather underdeveloped sweet tooth. But if you are one of those serious chocoholics the sky’s the limit here: special ‘Choc-tails’ like the ‘Exploding Chocolate Shot’(pure melted chocolate with popping candies and white chocolate), ‘100% Pure Chocolate Experience Iscream Max-Which’(vanilla ice cream between chocolate cookies with sprinkles for dipping) and many more chocolate covered indulgences.
