I’ve been eyeing off this place ever since the holiday period, barely containing my excitement at the prospect of super healthy food close to work(for you see, I’ve started this clean eating thing — you know, all the health benefits for all the money?). I «patiently» waited till Ayomo reopened after the Christmas/NYE period and I wasn’t disappointed. The shop hosts a minimalistic setting for a place that specialises in simple, fresh and wholesome foods. Perfect for the warmer weather, Ayomo offers frozen yoghurt and a small selection of made-to-order smoothies and super bowls(I can’t wait to try the dragonfruit one!). It also sells healthy meal boxes(salads, roasted sweet potatoes, zucchini noodles with chicken meatballs, salmon with miso noodles, etc) and has quite the selection of juices to cleanse, detox and nourish your body. I ordered the Golden Eye smoothie which is a meal in itself because of its size! For $ 10 I made sure this almond milk, passionfruit and banana(and other stuff I’m sure) smoothie lasted. I’ve never had a smoothie before that didn’t leave me feeling bloated and heavy afterwards. This one definitely gets my tick of approval! I’m definitely going to sample a lot more of the smoothies and juices here, and try the savoury foods for when I «accidentally forget» my lunch.

Taking a pram into Ayomo could have been a B-I-T-C-H cos they have these two uneven step up their shop. Thankfully one of their friendly staff saw me and helped me carry the pram up! Yay! She also let me try some of the flavours, not just those tiny little tester spoons either but a real miniature serve of yoghurt! Whoohooo She told me the yoghurt has no added sugar, so all the sugar comes from the natural flavours. I still found the yoghurt, even the natural ones suspiciously sweet though so none for the LO unfortunately! I tasted their strawberry and mint flavour and whilst it was ok I couldn’t actually taste any mint flavours. I ordered the natural yoghurt w peanut butter Tim tams and mango bombas. It was an interesting combo! I didn’t think it would go well together but I was craving for both! Lol so I kinda are them separately with the yoghurt and it worked out fine. Price wise I find that they are on the expensive side, even though they are quite generous with their toppings which is $ 1 each. I thought their servings were quite decent as well tho. They have got fresh juices as well as toasts and smoothie bowls and I just can’t wait to try them. One thing which I thought was weird is that they open from 12:30 pm onwards, but with juices and toast etc that they offer I thought it’s more a brekkie thing! Well fear not! They are looking at opening in the mornings soon so watch this space!

4.50 for a small cup which they didn’t fill very full. I had the lychee flavor which was good(thicker than a yogurtland flavor) and toppings are an additional $ 1. It was good but would have liked a bit more in my cup! May be hard to compete with places like yogurtland where you can mix and match.

A frozen yoghurt in south melbourne. Now I’m a big believer in frozen yoghurt and this place does it ok. Nothing surprised me to much about this. We tried the two flavour Options they had, macadamia and mango. They were ok. We then had selections of condiments which were added at an extra $ 1 per item. I myself prefer the weighing system which allows me to get a mix of lots of things.
