Went in for a takeaway lunch, got the falafel balls with 2 salads and 2 dips. The balls were a little dry and so was the tabouli. The eggplant salad however was awesome! And the dips(hummus and capsicum & parsley) were amazing, I would go here again just for the dips and try some of the other salads. There were plenty of unique and cool dips to pick from and they all looked delicious!

Read the reviews of a kebab or souvlaki joint on Unilocal or similar and they will usually be one of two types: 4-or-5-star reviews from inveterate pissheads for whom the shop’s wares are the perfect dénouement to a night out on the turps, and 1-or-2 star reviews from customers in the harsh light of day whose critical faculties, stomach linings and tastebuds are somewhat less dulled by massive amounts of alcohol. Oh, and 3-star reviews from people who have been in both categories at different times. The reason I bring this up is this: Kebabs R Yummy is not your usual kebab shop, cleverly located adjacent to a range of drinking establishments and open until a time with a.m. on the end. It’s in a really quiet part of South Melbourne(Wells Street) about a block west of St Kilda Road, and caters more to the businesses and apartment residents in the area. Basically this means that they can’t just get by serving up any old slop to line the stomachs of late night boozers. So I’ve had plenty of kebabs here(sober!) and they’ve all been really good: slightly crunchy bread, well-cooked meat of a much better quality than your usual doner scrapings. A huge range of salads and dips as well, and served in any combination you desire. The staff are really friendly and courteous too.
