Located on the corner from the outside I love seeing what appears to be a coffee house with ‘Espresso’ featuring in their sign as I love my coffee. Walked in and not a big fan of ‘booths’ I was pleased to see you can walk thru to another section that has regular tables. Love the exposed brickwork and large table I sat at. Decided just to order coffee, great service, water supplied and the coffee was good. Sadly went to pay for two coffees with pay wave and was told $ 15 minimum and a $ 1 surcharge! Never again too much competition in the area!

Im shocked at how any place in Melbourne can make such horrible food and deink and charge that much. This place will give Melbourne and St Kilda a bad name. I ordered a small juice and there was enough ginger in it to kill a small horse. I had gluten free sourdough toast with an omelette. The bread was thick and uncooked, no butter. The omelette looked and tasted like sponge bob, the feta like goats feet and the only yhing i could eat was the bacon and spinach. The staff were nice, all of them however better at consoling each other(5) than attending propaly to customers. Having people on holiday visas run the café isnt The way to run a successful cafè Melbourne Not once did any of them check in on me Style Its just not it.

This place is a St. Kilda institution. Before you read on, if you haven’t had The Provincial breakfast here then you are just not living! I used to live in Elwood and now back again. Damn I miss this place. Great vibe. So casual. Really enjoy myself. I’m glad I’m back in the good so expect some more Elwood reviews. Peace out.

Came to Leroy’s based on an informational neighborhood map that had it listed as a top café/coffee shop to check out in the St. Kilda Junction area. It was walking distance from the hostel we were staying at and had a very airy, open and relaxed vibe. The awning is very basic and simple. There is a small hallway of seating as you first walk-in with a counter for take away coffee orders which is also the main bar for all espresso drinks. There is a 2nd portion of seats and booths to your left as you walk in and then some patio seating. I was greeted immediately when I came in and was able to choose any seat. They actually offered free wifi which is hard to come by in Australia. For some reason, many cafes and restaurants do not offer free wifi. Many cities in certain locations offer free wifi but unlike many other places I’ve been like Mexico, Thailand or the US, wifi is much harder to come by from businesses you’re dining at. Even when you do find wifi, it’s usually not that great. The wifi that was offered, wasn’t the best. The connectivity was a bit sketchy on the farther side of the restaurant and perhaps because I was using a US device that has one network signal different than Europe/Asia, at times it seemed much more temperamental to connect to wifi in general. It took me several attempts and some fudging on my part to get it to connect to the wifi. They had several breakfast options, but again, the prices were a bit steep for some breakfast item. LIke muesli with yogurt was $ 15 and pancakes were around $ 17! Since I was coming more for coffee and a light breakfast, I went with a cappuccino and a summer berry muffin. The muffin was by far one of the best muffins I’ve ever had! It was HUGE, like a Costco-sized muffin but looked of a higher quality. It was moist, fluffy, and so fresh! The fruit was great, it wasn’t too sweet and it had a small dollop of cream cheese on the top, right in the center. I thought that would detour from the muffin, but it added such a nice texture and flavor to the muffin, it was fantastic! The coffee in Melbourne was amazing! My Australian friend who lives in Melbourne says that people are coffee snobs in Melbourne! Thank god because it makes it that much better for me! It didn’t matter where I went in Melbourne, coffee was amazing! Clean, smooth, rich, non-metallic, not bitter… lovely! Leroy’s coffee lived up to that as well and practically everyone does coffee art! My muffin and coffee was about $ 8. Pretty much a similar price to espresso and a muffin in the US when you include tax/tip. Would definitely come back again when I visit for some delicious coffee and muffins!

There are lots of competition for ‘All Day Breakfast’ in the area but this place do it really good. Service: 11÷10− very friendly, courteous, showed off their personality and worked hard. American waiters can get some coaching off these guys if they ever expect a decent tip off me again! Haha Food: 9⁄10. Very yummy. Even the juice is fresh made. Venue: 7⁄10. Lots of competitor cafés in the area. Looses marks as the place has no real personality/atmosphere that stands out. Parking, 40meters from café. Free during the day for free 2hr parking.

Good coffee and food at a good price. The walk-up window on the street is quick and convenient, which is great for if you’re waiting on a tram. They have a cool loyalty program for your phone as well. Worth a drink or two.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Some days you get excellent service and some days the waitresses ignore you completely. They are definitely my preference for Chai Lattes on Acland Street as well as wonderful homemade muffins. The last time I was there, I sat by the kitchen and watched all the delicious looking food come out, presentation is amazing, although I’m not sure about any other food but the muffins! Definitely grab one of those, even for a late morning snack, they are mouthwatering!

Nothing wrong with this place. Me and a mate rode down here from St. Kilda East as I felt like giving the place a go. I heard that it’d recently changed its beans to Sensory Lab and this had me interested. Its got a little bonus to its name that it is directly across from Big Mouth, one of my favourite places to go in St. Kilda, I can thus see myself coming back here then jumping across the road afterwards. The layout isn’t bad, I’ve seen better, but it is nice and cosy nevertheless. Now the coffee, a nice cup if I may say so, but nothing standout. It is not a bad cup but not that great either. I’ll be back here for sure, it is a very convenient one for me.

The folks down at Leroy Espresso have just changed their coffee supplier to Sensory Lab coffee and it shows! You now must head down to St Kilda and try a double espresso one morning! Just plant yourself outside on Ackland St and watch the world go by as your tastebuds go to their special place!

This was once my go to café on Acland St. I originally gave them 5 stars. But they slipped, majorly. Coffee is not as good and the service has become terrible. While my food was fine, it took forever to come out and they weren’t as busy as they have been. Plus they keep the three front booths reserved, it seems just so the staff have somewhere to sit when they want to have a break. Won’t be back!

Yum!!! Order at the little window, where the barista remembers your name, and get your hot espresso drinks(much smaller looking than American size. yeah, surprise surprise, right?). They make it quickly, and it’s right. Popular spot for milling about, as it’s at a corner. Can also sit outside… the entire Ackland street(cake street) is for sitting al fresco for the nosh and the sip. palm trees and high tiled rectangular blocks dotting the busy few blocks. Also same area to pick up the tram!

Leroy makes a great cuppa! The staff here are really friendly, and will have a chat with you as they prepare your order. Its really nice to be in a place where the staff really do seem to enjoy their jobs. I like their breakfast too I had a fairly simple breakfast of eggs on toast with hashbrowns and bacon, and it was delicious. Im the kind of person who never normally orders eggs on toast at breakfast, because I like the way I make them at home. But these were really good, and Im so glad because it got me off to a great start that morning!

Customer service is imperative to a positive experience. I have worked in cafes before so I understand that the odd little mistake can happen. It’s not the mistake that causes the problem in the customers mind but the way the place in question handles the mistake. Every effort was made to resolve my issue when I eat here a little while ago which is one of the reasons that I came back the next week. The other reason was that the food is really, really good. The hash browns are up there with some of the best that I have ever had. If you make a good hash brown you have got a winner in my book.
