Stopped in here a couple of days ago after a coffee café close by was too busy closing up «early» to serve me. That does seem to be an Adelaide business disease for food establishments-they start shutting things down 30 minutes before they actually close. It’s irritating. So, looking around and wanting a coffee and cake in the late afternoon I spied this place. Honestly, I didn’t have high hopes for a hotel café. But it seemed that it was The Avenues or nothing. Well, it just goes to show how wrong I could be – I had a delightful coffee and cake episode – so good, I’ll go back next time I am in the area. I entered the café dining area. There were a few people having coffees-that was a good sign. I was greeted promptly as I looked at the cake display. The passion fruit cheesecake looked yummy, so I ordered that and a 3-shot latte(their mugs were big, but not my usual 4-shot worthy size). I grabbed a table and a few minutes later the server brought me my coffee and cake. The platter had a few blueberries and a syrup swatch and some whipped cream. Looked great-see my photo. And the latte was excellent. I later discovered that they had a coffee and cake special 8 am-to-late for $ 6.50. What a deal. If you are in the area, try this place out. They have a nice outdoor seating area too. Eat drink and be merry, but not too much. JD

Awesome little place! Food is tasty and presented well! They must have a decent chef. Prices range from around $ 10 to $ 30. They have half priced meals sometimes! And the staff are friendly! They checked to make sure the meals were nice. Venue is pubby/bistro…really casual!
