After a croissant? Head here my friends. Or take a trip to Paris. Both highly recommended. Buttery, flakey and light, there’s nothing quite like a freshly-baked, hot from the oven croissant, and Cannelle whip up a pretty mean one. As Andrew mentions, there’s very little in terms of atmosphere to talk about(which is very un-Parisian of them), and it never seems to be particularly well stocked, having a somewhat empty feeling to the place. But all in all, a good stop for a fresh croissant(or three) — why not take it to nearby Richard’s Park, just across busy Magill Rd, and make your own atmosphere.

Cannelle Fine Foods is a little French Bakery/Patisserie on Magill Road. Billing itself as a «croissanterie,» at times it seems that croissants are the only thing on offer, which suits me because that is really all I ever come there for. They do, however, also stock an assortment of other baked goods, including Baguettes and a range of french pastries. Everything is baked on the premises and is delicious and fresh. Although no pains are taken in terms of fashionable presentation, there is a small table setting within the ‘croissanterie” at which one can take a pastry, or croissant along with a coffee, which is also good.
