Amico is where it’s at! A little hidden gem serving traditional Italian wood fire pizza, gelato & some of the best coffees I’ve ever had. They do serve a bit of brekky, which is always very nice, but the pizzas are the main attraction, and for good reason to! It’s busy 7 nights a week but they do take bookings so if you’re planning to stop in, give a quick call first so your not disappointed. The staff are amazing & very accommodating… They help to make this place what it is! Do yourself a favour & get amongst Amico Café!

Great pizza and gelato. One of our favourites. Sometimes quite busy though so takeaway may be the best option if you haven’t booked. Beats Pizzaca and most other places I can think of around here!

Have to stop by here every time to get my coffee when I’m out and about on the run, the cappuccinos are really good

We were excited to see that Amico Café was opening soon, as there is a shortage of places that offer a good, wood fired pizza — and our usuals were also starting to slide in quality. But Amico Café is falling short in some VERY basic areas. We have ordered pickup pizza from Amico four times now(one of those times had to be ordered at the shop because the phone was left off the hook), and are curious to know how a pizza place is unable to properly ‘top’ a pizza, and fail to cut one. I would think they are two pretty important requirements. :\ Furthermore, being told an order would be ready to pick up in 15 – 20 minutes, and then have it made straight away, only to sit there for roughly 10 – 15 minutes, is also unacceptable. Timing is important. You can’t just offer a worst case scenario and if you hit inside it, so be it. The pizza was cut into FOUR slices? Not quite right is it? And those TWO cuts, did not even going all the way through — so we had to cut it ourselves… also, not quite right. If it WAS cut properly(into 8 slices), each slice would have had ONE meagre slice of pepperoni on it, and about 10 olives. The choice of toppings are great, but there are some basic areas where they are falling short, that really need to be addressed. Get your ratios right. Cut it properly. And ‘deliver’ it on time. It’s great to see that their chef makes himself a nice pizza(via Facebook). I would like one too! Hopefully, our next visit is not our last.

Gelato in general is good, but this place seems to ace it. They have an extensive range of flavours, I am talking over 40! It is one of the best gelatos I have tried, from strawberry to tira misu and pretty much everything in between. It is homemade, which adds to the enjoyment. It is a real treat, and 10 times better than ice cream and I love ice cream!

Absolutely NOTHING beats delicious ice cream on a hot day. And in Perth we get plenty of hot days very deserving of such a treat. Providing it’s not so hot the ice cream melts before it hits your mouth — I think we all know those messy days where you’re frantically licking the ice cream as quickly as possible to stop the threat of it descending down the cone and onto your fingers. And I think we’ve all felt the sense of failure when it does. But you know what? Gelato Amico is so damned good you’d take the risk. If you happen to be in the city you have GOT to give Gelato Amico a try. There are so many tasty flavours to choose from and the quality of the ice cream is out of this world. As it’s very — let’s say ‘compact’ — and the flavours outweigh the space, part of the fun is getting to try new flavours that weren’t there the week before. An absolute must for any Perthian.

This is one of the better gelato places around Perth and definitely the best in the CBD. I must reiterate this is NOT ice cream, its GELATO — the real handmade, artisan stuff, made by an Italian. I’m very particular about separating the two; they are not the same. Gelato is far superior. This gelato hasn’t travelled miles to get here; it’s made on location and is consequently of higher quality and freshness. They make at least 50 flavours, but the shop is teeny tiny so there’s only a few on display at a time, but this means you always get the nice surprise of finding what’s going that day. Besides gelato, they also make a decent coffee.

Gelato Amico– what a great idea. Nestled on the corner of William and Hay street this delighful gelato bar is a well desrved treat. As well as an extensive selection of fruit and cream based gelato there is also a large selection of cold drinks to keep you hydrated while you indulge. The best thing about Gelato Amico is the opportunity to sample, I don’t know about other gelato or ice cream connoisseurs, but I’m so easily entertained by a «taster.» Those tiny– more-ish spoons that allow you to sample so much, while not really impacting your initial decision– hehhe what fun! Better still is the friendly service, I am yet to meet any gelato distributer who wasn’t happy to hand over spoon fulls of edible happiness and self gratification to the masses and Gelato Amico is no exception. They make you feel good about buying gelato from them and also encourage you to stay for a while to savour the enjoyment in their seated area– even their bin is themed as a giant ice-cream/gelato, that’s committment! Gelato Amico– you have out done yourself once again. Your pistacio gelato will always have a place in my heart, head and subsequently, my stomache!
