Victoria Hotel

A drive in the country (well sort of) leads us to picturesque Strathalbyn. On a public holiday I didn’t expect to see much open, but there were a few eateries on the main street that were open.
I tell you what, there is no lack of courtesy here. From the point of entry to us leaving our hosts were pleasant and aiming to please. Every one of the waiting staff were there to make sure that our experience was a pleasant one.
The food we had was usual pub fare. A couple of schnitzels with a beer and wine were the order of the day. I read somewhere that you can always rate a place by it’s schnitzels. If that is a true indicator then the Victoria Hotel in Strath rates nicely indeed.
Pricing was average. I didn’t think it was over or under priced. Other orders I checked out looked pretty good and there were good sized portions to be had.
They had a salad bar, which didn’t have a lot of variety compared to other places I have been to, but they had the staples there.
Enjoyed my meal, enjoyed the atmosphere. If you are whiling away a lazy Sunday arvo then this might be the place for you!
