SOCUTEGIFTSHOP! Lots of odds and ends plus gifts for babies. Will definitely be one of my go-to gift shops!

Mr Sparrow is such a charming little store with its mixed modern and vintage vibe, the old piled up suitcases, dark wooden floor boards and old glass bottles used as plant holders add to the retro effect but the pretty ceramic figurines, quirky burning love candles(separable candles of people hugging), clever tree shadow projectors and pretty candles add to its quirky edge. There are so many clever, cute and amazing items in this store and to be honest I spent a good twenty minutes just making sure that I hadn’t missed out on anything. If you like little gift shops with clever and cute knick knacks this will be your haven, the interior is as exciting as what it stocks with a bath tub housing little fish in it and the bright yellow walls which just make you smile. Truly wonderful find!

This is such a cute little shop, I want to move in. There are designer wares, both local and imported, and even hand-made craft-y looking objet to inject a sense of rusticity and eco-friendliness into any home. Speaking of which, the girl behind the counter told me that the store stocks predominantly eco-friendly and sustainable products(ie: wherever possible). Love the kitchenware which would give Alessi a run for their money…

Mr Sparrow is a home, garden and gift store, tucked next door to the New Norica Bakery on Bagot Rd. It has an ecletic mix of old and new, local and international, designer and handmade things for every part of the house. It is full of unique and quirky. As they have such a unusual mix there is something for just about everyone. This is one of those places that you can spend hours looking through the treasures. There is a nursery section full of stuffed animals, toys, clothes and a range of kids décor including buntings, wall stickers, mobiles and more. The kitchen range has everything from antique brass trivets to modern plastic accessories.

It’s so bright and lovely in this store. There are special pieces for just about every room in the house — garden and nursery included. Mr Sparrow caters for a certain individual; it seems somewhat out of place among the high-end retailers and sleek restaurants of Subiaco, but we’re happy it’s here. It offers something different. Some of the objects are pricey though — and I feel it can all be a bit same-y at times. I don’t always find what I’m looking for. But it’s good fun to hunt through, and when you do discover the right gift, you’re smiling for the rest of the day. The small space packs a range of Bone China objects, hand-made jewellery, some inventive garden pieces and plenty of animal paraphernalia to keep you interested, and I love the shelve of stamps, journals and other one-off goods for the office. The fact that you can get a lemon tart from the New Norcia Bakery next door also makes the experience pretty darn great.
