Came to Subi today to go for a restorative bowl of laksa at the markets only to find that they’ve already closed down! As a consolation decided on Zambrero which I saw from Unilocal was close. Zambrero never disappoints with it’s fresh, tasty and affordable Mexican fast food. My only negative is that unlike Guzman y Gomez there is no table with extra coriander, jalapeños and sauces to add some extra oomph! It will certainly set me up for the day before heading to the Laneway Lounge this evening!

A standard Zambrero’s but in saying that the food is good, the service efficient and the store is clean and well presented. Definitely worth trying if you like Mexican and you can choose what you get in it!

Best god damned burrito this side of somewhere else that has really good burritos. Founded by a doctor they offer discounts to hospital employees and have a plate for plate policy to aid starving people. There’s literally nothing bad to be said about this place, they have it all.

Zambrero in Subiaco follows the same formula as the other stores in Perth in the Zambrero chain. Order at the counter and you can choose your meat and salad fillings for your tacos or burrito. Salads are fresh and the meat fillings are ok. It’s a good place for a quick, cheap meal on the run. Other reviewers’ comments that this chain is the Subway of Mexican food are quite apt. A couple of things I do like about Zambrero: — they offer a burrito loyalty card(buy 9 get the 10th free) — their socially responsible Plate 4 Plate program funded through the profits of the company which supports Stop Hunger Now. It’s enough to see me return for another burrito!
