Friends and I came here for a late dinner on a Sunday night. Hung out at the bar while waiting for a table, where the bartender was great with conversation and served up some good drinks. I ended up getting a steak and after having had several in this country, I have to say this was quite good — juicy and not dry, cooked exactly to my specifications. Service was pretty quick and attentive, too.

Absolutely fantastic! I’ve been to a number of Hard Rocks around the world, and I have to say this is probably my favorite. That used to go to the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego but I’m a bit past the party scene there. I had a quick weekend break in Queensland after four days of business so decided to check out Byron and Surfers Paradise. Great places, although I preferred Byron, that is simply personal preference. I generally avoid chains and even hard rock café’s these days, but wanted to go out for a decent dinner and was looking for a place where I could sit at the bar. For those of you who know Australia, you know that most bars don’t have stools. Somehow there is a belief that if people sit at the bar they won’t be able to serve drinks LOL. Anyway I figured the Hard Rock Café would be a safe bet and it was. Better than that they had a good wine list, and as the steaks are from locally raised beef with the place of origin the listed, the quality is way beyond what you would expect from a hard rock. The bar staff was friendly, and The manager came over to say hi and ended up buying me a drink. I am terrible with names but he was in Auzzie who lived many years in the US. John Fox? Anyway thanks a lot to all the staff working that night, you’re running a great hard rock and I wish you a lot of success. I highly recommend to anybody in town for a good evening out for dinner and drinks.

Delicious hamburgers. Great location. Fun atmosphere. Right on Cavill the heart of surfers. The drinks are pretty great too! Especially the hurricane

We didn’t eat here only had drinks. We possibly would have but they were so rude that we left after one round of drinks. We were at the bar about to order more when my husband asked if they could heat up our babies bottle. We were told that all microwaves were in use and this would not be possible and we should talk to our server. He explained that we hadn’t seen a server(hence why he was ordering drinks at the bar) and the bartender just shrugged and walked off. We found a lovely place down the road who was more than happy to accomodate us.

So we all know what to expect from hard rock. The food is the same all over the world, good quality pub food in a good environment. I’ll start with the positives. Consistent food, tastes good, generous servings. From a service side, one of the worst I have ever experienced. Just horrible. Dreadful service average food and drinks in dirty glasses. Never again

My boyfriend and I make a trip to Surfers at least once a year, either for a birthday or anniversary, just to have dinner at Hard Rock. Yeahhh, it’s kitschy, it’s in the middle of Cavill which can be gross, but don’t listen to the haters. Hard Rock is the best. They were doing amazing American BBQ food before it was trendy, and they’ll keep doing it when it’s not trendy anymore. The waiters have that American-style training too, so they WILL talk to you, and they will talk a lot, and they will try to convince you to buy more food and more drinks than you might want, but whatever man, just do it! You’re at Hard Rock! My favourite memory is of a lunch time birthday meal here… the place was pretty empty, and my boyfriend and I were just taking it slow, having some cruisy afternoon drinks. Phil Collins ‘In The Air Tonight’ was playing on the screens they have in a huge circle above the bar, and right at the drum bit — you know the drum bit — every single staff member in the room smashed their hands on the table along with the beat. Yes. Just yes. This is why I go to Hard Rock.

The value for money is through the floor at this place, me and missus had a burger and ‘fries’ and a drink each and it cost $ 65 — that made our eyes water I can tell you. When the meal arrived it looked like a, slightly, larger Macdonalds meal, no salad(pay extra) or other embellishments(pay extra), just a small portion of thin ‘fries’ and a very average burger. I left a little bit hungry so I would class what I had as a substantial snack at best. There are so many places nearby that offer much better value for money and food, I shudder to think what the family of 4 paid to feed their tribe, they had starters as well mains. I will never go to this place again.

Cool location with above average food. Value for money or what can be expected at a Hard Rock Café venue.

I adore the Hard Rock, especially our little local branch! Very cool location with views of Surfers Paradise Boulevard and Orchid Avenue this place will not disappoint food-wise or vibe-wise. The service is excellent and they host some super cool events here :) Definitely hit up Hard Rock for some good, ol’ fashioned, American style cuisine.

I love this place. Its the only place I find that has any kinda of atmosphere! The steak when cooked property is amazing, once it was undercooked and red in the middle but usually the food is GREAT! It is me and my partners fave spot for lunch and dinner! If you want to sit in a booth just ask! The staff work hard and if they say you have to wait for 20 mins, you usually get a table ALOT quicker so its worth waiting! best food in Surfers thats for sure.

If you’re looking for an American touch then this is the place to go. We had very attentive waiters, who were energetic and actually seemed happy to help you. We went on the 4th of July so all the American employees were having a very happy patriotic day. The serving sizes of the food are huge, I was talked into having their one off Patriotic(juicy lucy) 12oz burger with every artery clogging addition to the burger that you could think of. It was so massive I could barely get through half. The food was Really good, but for me I think it’s a little bit overpriced $ 24 for the burgers and chips, but you are paying for the branding so I didn’t mind because it was only a once off. The atmosphere is fantastic, which is mostly due to the staff interaction with customers. I’m not normally a fan of being interrupted while I’m eating but Hard Rock is now my exception to that rule. The staff are so over the top excited that it adds to the overall fun, I don’t believe I’ve laughed so much in a long time. Thank you to Jesse and the man at front of house(sorry can’t remember your name) for making this one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve ever had.

Very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable staff. For quality of service, we got more than we paid for and will definitely be returning :) After the horrendous experience we’d had at Mos Burger only minutes before, we decided to give the Hard Rock a go as we were still hungry. We were seated promptly and in a very friendly manner upon arrival and referred to our section waitress for ordering. Even though we only ordered a starter to share, our section waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was great, everyone looked like they were having a great time(staff included!) and there were more than enough staff to tend to every query I had. We had a great meal and experience here and will definitely be returning in the near future! This is an excellent example of how a great restaurant should be run!

Fast, friendly and fun. This venue, despite the poor maintenance on the signage outside, does not disappoint if you’re after some good ol’ american cuisine. The burgers are a heart attack on a plate so indulge and enjoy but only in moderation. The wings are finger lickin’ good and the potato skins are a must try with a good ale from the bar. The service is fantastic and the staff are really into delivering a positive and memorable experience.

Interesting memorabilia. food was nice but overpriced. potato skins were yummy. I had an Aussie burger which was very filling and $ 24.95 :-/ Atmosphere was ok, a touch loud. Our waiter was cool. chatty and pleasant. No one acknowledged us when we left which was a lil disappointing. would only go to one of these restaurants on a special occasion like being on holidays

I visit hard rock caffe anywhere I go. Canada, USA, Middle East. Today was my second visit to this branch, after having a horrible burger the last time I was there because it was over cooked. So how can I creat a second chance for the kitchen? Traditional New York Steak, medium rare. The most close to perfect on that plate was the gravy. The steak was bleeding like juice. I don’t know how many chances should I give your kitchen, but it seems to me like the only thing you guys can execute are the appetisers. If you can’t take it to the next level maybe it is time to recreate the kitchen staff… Also, a note for the staff: if you can’t be genuine don’t fake it, embrace the culture of this brand and don’t make it look so forced on you. Absolutely disappointed. I’m a huge fan and when I see you’re taking this opportunity for granted, the brand should take their license back. 2 stars for the name, although half of the lights in the name were burned out, it was only saying(hard) instead of hard rock, shame.

Not a whole lot to say. The service was average and so were the meals. Had to wait to be seated but no one came. Quite pricey for the quality of the food. Much better places to go at better prices.

I got the chance to check out this Hard Rock location on all my past surf trips to the Gold Coast, and it was the first location I’d ever been in outside the United States. I was expecting a couple of differences, but really didn’t encounter any. As another reviewer pointed out, I was pretty surprised that the servers referred to «chips» as «fries» — just like in the States! All in all, a good, solid franchise brand, wherever you are.

When I miss the States its always good to come here and eat the $.50 chicken wings and hear the staff refer to the chips as fries.

If you want a big meal with taste to blow out your brains, Hard Rock Café is it. I have never been to one of their chains before unlike the American pal I was with. You should think along the lines of Hog’s Breath Café or Beach house in terms of meal size, style, noise and service. We had the most helpful waitress ‘Fran’ who brought us everything before we could anticipate needing it. Don’t expect a quiet meal as this place is a popular place. But the service was prompt and meals came fast. I wasn’t impressed by one younger girl who didn’t even apologise for a meal error, but I guess that goes in hand with the Gold Coast. Next time I might try their extensive cocktail menu.
