This place failed us because it’s permanently closed. I guess it was a real mafia. Just kidding but really, update this restaurant to «permanently closed».

I’m from Southern California and this place has one of the best steak burritos I’ve ever had. I literally said out loud, «OMG», after every bite. Going again tomorrow.

I came across this place on my first trip to Domino’s to take advantage of their $ 5 pizza deals on Mondays and Tuesdays. Taco Mafia is only a few feet away from them. I made a mental note to come try TM since I’m still in search of some decent Mexican food. SERVICE: The person taking my order was sweet and courteous. No qualms there! QUALITY: Steak Burrito was larger and had more meat than GyG and Mad Mex, but it was lacking flavor. I thought maybe a little Tabasco hot sauce would do the trick. Well, the bottle looked like Tabasco but was filled with something else. And it was a little difficult getting the sauce out since their was old sauce caked around the nozzle. I inquired about the business with the lovely gal who I thought was the cook, but she just closes the shop. She was quite candid and told me the owner and cook are Mexican so it’s authentic Mexican recipes. The cook comes in the morning to make all the food(ie: shredded pork, chicken, steak, etc.) and it’s placed in the warmer to be served that day. If they sell out of an item than that’s it. Hmmm… I kinda like my food made to order, don’t you? VALUE: Same price as GyG and Mad Mex. So if you want more burrito and more meat, then come here. But if you want better quality food… Better head somewhere else Search for good Mexican food continues…

Mexican restaurants are becoming a dime a dozen these days in Sydney, so how does this newcomer fare? Not bad, but it could be better. Apparently started by real Mexicans, this should lend some authenticity to this spot located close to Central. The décor is cool, the music is chill, but how’s the food? I ordered a burrito with a friend, and was able to mix my meat filling Chipotle/Mad Mex style, and all for roughly $ 10. Nice. Unfortunately, they were out of carnitas. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful, portions massive, and hot sauce widely available. The burrito was pretty good actually, but it could have been better if the meat was warmer. Not so nice. I think their lack of customers means their meat just sits there staying lukewarm instead of being continuously cooked. I need to come back to try their tacos and get a burrito with warmer meat. With warmer meat this place would easily be 4 stars.
