Abattoir Blues

Definitely the place to be on a Friday evening.
So lucky the Happy Hour, the live Music and the atmosphere made a great night with my mates.
Definitely coming back to try the food and there specialty Coffee!!!.

This place was a welcomed sight — for a traveller looking for a decent breakfast lunch spot. It’s coffee was delicious and friendly staff.

Just stopped in for a quick coffee. The staff were luke warm and so was the coffee.
Ordered a soy mocha. Nothing special and considering I needed to add two sugars to make it sweet — I think I was given a latte with an extra sprinkle of chocolate not a mocha!

It has taken the boy and I 3 attempts to go to Abattoir Blues. Although we are locals to the area it was harder to experience the greatness than we expected!
Our first attempt was for breakfast a couple of months ago but because the boy doesn’t like bacon or egg and the menu was limited we decided on another location. The second time was a Saturday… Yep I’d read the website which said closed Saturday & Sunday but oblivious still made my way there!
We headed down this morning around 11 found a car spot right out the front (win!), made our way in and planted ourselves at a table in the sun.
About 15 minutes after ordering our drinks and burgers arrived at the table… A pulled pork burger and cap for me and a cheeseburger and 50 lashes for the boy. Wow! These burgers are delicious! After trying each other’s meals we devoured the rest of our own, ordered a take-​away coffee and made our way home!
We will be back for sure this time for the live music!

A really cool place to get away from the crowds at sydney olympic park this place has it all — or at least everything you need for a good lunch — great coffee, delicious burgers and an alcohol licence with cheap beer and wine and live music on a Friday afternoon. My friends and I between us tried the beef burger, the peri peri burger and the chicken burger all of which were amazing. The place itself is situated in a little garden just off dawn Fraser avenue in a light filled space with cool diner style stools and booths. Perfect for a bit of conference respite we quickly became regulars. The only downside is that the service can be a a bit confusing (as in the servers get confused not the customers)

Fantastic hidden gem tucked away in Olympic Park Abattoir Heritage Precinct, right across from the train station. Great coffee, amazing pastries, croissants and brasserie breads. Styled after an American diner, with old leather seats and stools, Abattoir Blues has a wide array of treats to offer. Among them: licensed to serve alcohol from 10 am, hot whisky, and amazing hot breakfast of roast mushrooms, pancetta and juicy chorizo. A must try for café lovers!
