I found this place off a tourist book I picked up. This place has pearls and opals at wholesale prices (so I was told). They have a special in the tourist coupon section that offers a BOGO (buy one, get one) free admission to watch how an opal is cut, etc. This is what initially attracted me. When I went to the location, I had my doubts as I thought this place would be shady. It’s on the 3rd floor and on «lock down». Talk about all the locks and cameras in this place! Anyways, what I found was not a factory, but a place to buy opals and pearls. I got a quick lesson on the types of opals and if any interested me.
Bottom line, the workers are friendly and helpful. They educated a lot which helped me make a decision. Knowing that there were other customers in there took a lot of worries from my mind as being shady. I realize this isn’t a good way to judge, but I’m hoping (fingers crossed) other consumers did their homework.
